scratch my last i thought it was on something useful for the general population silly me.

apparently according to google its a law so only one mp can present a bill on one day and must do so in 10 minuettes in other words we only have to work for 10 min a day for 3 days i think it was

To give credit where credit is due Labour today announced plans to take 3 major rail franchises back into public ownership once their current contracts expire.

My own personal thoughts are that NO public utility providers should be in private ownership where the needs of the shareholders come first. Only my opinion but I think it could possibly be the start of a damned good idea.

far as i know the railway used to operate as one body ie rolling stock…track …personnel were all under one umbrella. when the gov sold them off they were split into three hence we have the issues we have now.

The only way it will work properly is if they bring back the separate enterties back under one roof.

Im getting as bad as you know who i cant help but wonder if there is some backhanded reason like they can funnel tax payer money to their mates in fines or shift a load of debt ontp it and then sell it off the usual buy out cobblers that we have seen time and time again in the transport industry

How’s this for a ‘‘hostel’’ to house the ‘irregulars’’ as the limp wrist lefties like to term it all.
A 16th century Manor House no less.

All looking forward to an all expenses paid stay over Christmas and beyond…with unlimited heating btw.

Makes you proud to be British eh?

No mention of illegal immigration in Starmer’s speech today btw, about key points to improve…the main point that most people are concerned about in the country…or the TWENTY THOUSAND that have invaded us since he conned everyone (not me) into voting for him and his joke of a government.

It seems he is still wearing his blinkers when it comes to the mood of the country…top of the range ones bought by Lord Ali no doubt.

Except in the real world any regular rail user can see that train timetables and schedules have turned into a basket case. Firstly since freight took priority over passenger services and even worse since the Communists got in.
The excuses are laughable including flooding with no rain sometimes even together with the truth train crew can’t be bothered turning up for work and/or train held up for slow running freight trains ahead or crossing main lines.
While British Rail wasn’t exactly known for its efficiency or value for money.

You got that right, it don’t matter who the name owner or lease company is it’s the staff that was always the problem even way before the so called hand over to the private sector

Yeah but they will be living in hell on earth
because they will be sleeping 4 to a room. Plus they will only be given £45 and a mobile phone. As if that wasn’t bad enough, apparently they won’t have access to room service, the mini bar, the sauna or the jacuzzi. What sort of country are we living in by taking those things away. Talk about human rights abuse.

No-one coming to this country illegally should have to put up with conditions as horrific as those I have mentioned above. Let me guess, next you’ll be moaning that our pensioner’s have had their winter fuel allowance cut while receiving none of the above luxuries or that our workforce here in the UK are having to fund all this through our taxes. :joy:

I must owe starmer an apology he said he was going to sort the back log of people waiting for asylum decisions and he must of done a banner job. Up to september the list has only grown by 13% since he came to power… oh wait… over all its fallen by 22% since September last year which means when he kicked the tories out it had fallen 35%.

Well done starmer for scrapping a plan that clearly worked and doing such a stand up job

another success for starmer who promised to lower the use of hotels.

as of 30 june there were 28,585 “irregulars” in hotels and 67,057in “other accommodation” ie b&b’s etc

as of 30th sept there were 35,651 “irregulars” in hotels and 70,530 in “other accommodation”

Another win for starmer

From June to Sept there was an increase in irregular migrants?

Another win for Summer.

so what your saying then is the Rwanda plan worked as there wasnt an increase in immigration in the last quater when the tories were in power and thats how they reduced the waiting list by 35%

The waiting list was reduced by employing people to deal with the applications.
Spending more up front meant fewer housed in hotels etc. The earlier policy of penny pinching on admin was reversed by Sunak. Previously the Govs were just storing asylum seekers for months and years, and paying hotel etc owners to house them.
That policy resulted in more places taken by those who should have been refused and deported, and those who should have been accepted were prohibited from getting jobs and paying their own way.

The Rwanda idea was meant to discourage new arrivals.
That is very different to the waiting list. It is an influence on it of course, but there is not a simple correlation between the two.

"Since Labour took office, approximately 9,400 individuals with no legal right to remain in the UK have been returned to their home countries.

The number of forced deportations has risen by 19 per cent compared to 2023, with nearly 2,600 people removed under this category.

There has also been a significant increase in the removal of foreign national offenders, with a 14 per cent rise compared to the previous year."
“Sir Keir Starmer’s government has achieved the three biggest return flights ever so far, as nearly 10,000 migrants have been deported since Labour took power.”

All from that commie left wing rag …
…GBN…

Where does that come from?
Asylum seekers (I guess that is who they are?) receive £49-18 per week from the Gov to pay for food clothing etc.
If food is supplied at a hostel they will receive £8-68 per week for clothing toiletries etc.

I think you accidentally included an S in hotel. Never mind.

I wonder where the new smartphones come from? How do they pay for the contract? They surely can’t be PAYG because £8 something isn’t going to buy as much data or airtime as my observations of these poor unfortunates appears to show more time on their phones than Anne Frank spent on her typewriter.

The apologist strikes again.:joy:

I cant decide which is most prevalent in those posts the brainwashed lefty content, or the ‘Comical Ali’ (say what you DON’T see ) style of delivery.

You really can not bear to use the word ‘illegal’ can you for these people .
They arrived illegally, they are here illegally, they ARE ‘Illegal immigrants’…end of.

Do you think that if you use the euphamism ‘‘irregular’’ as told to do by ‘your masters’ that it will make the situation appear more tame or acceptable?
All it does mate is illustrate what a brainwashed ‘Servile to the cause’ type ‘Borg’ you are, nothing more…but keep it up you illustrate why we need to get rid of your type of people in government.

As for your official figures…
So he’s got rid of 10000 eh?
I smell something decidedly ratty about that, and it aint a rat.
He’s let 20000 in since he got into power…just say that slowly not 2 thousand…t w e n t y t h o u s a n d.:flushed:.

A great alternative to the Rwanda scheme that he derided eh?
So why tf has he suddenlly sent 10000 back after being and continuing to be a soft touch, only blabbing on about ‘smashing the gangs’…how’s that going so far btw.
Adjusted and manipulated stats, garnished with a soupson of pure bull sh I would reckon.

I’m sure the people of Altrincham living in fear for their wives and daughters on the street will be comforted by the ‘Pacifying words of Franglais’ on all this stuff, and his official line links.

Open yer effin eyes mate, you are excelling yourself as the forum joke.

Incidentally, it was reported in todays i-paper news (on page 7) that the most common boys’ name in Britain is now Mohammed. It reminds me of a chap I knew who taught in a boys’ school in Egypt and when he opened his register on the first day of term he was aghast to find that every single boy in his form had been Christened - sorry Muslimmed - Mohammed.

Sounds like Prato on a Friday night…
John.

The real world and reality. One in which you definitely do not inhabit.

“A hostel” … you have literally been presented with evidence they are staying in a 16th century manor house and yet you still can’t bring yourself to call it what the rest of us can see and know it is. You really are a brainwashed pratt aren’t you.
