So if as you say Starmer knew, surely he is guilty of aiding and abetting her rule break.
Call me a logical realist, but the obvious answer to your question is he thought, or hoped it would not get out, so not only is he a rule breaker but guilty of a concious cover up…not good for a PM.

(Please no lists containing the words ‘Boris’ or ‘Johnson’…as I said,.we all get it.)

Hardly surprising, as I said none of em are 100% straight, they are…hate to say it again, ‘all the same’ in one way or another.
It’s like everything else in ‘Realworld’, it is only deemed a rule break, or a misdemeanour, or even a crime, if you get caught !

So don’t get caught …simples.

From what we know now, and I am open to correction.

Starmer knew about the spent conviction because Haigh had told him.
He offered her the job as Minister knowing that.

She did not tell the Civil Servants in the Ministry as she as required to do under the Ministerial code.

She has been sacked for breaching the ministerial code, not for having a spent conviction.

That is my understanding anyway, and could be wrong.

Breaching the ministerial code is summat that she, and Starmer, criticised others for in the past.

I fully support the rehabilitation of offenders, everyone deserves a second chance etc etc.

Leaving aside the breach of the ministerial code for a second I always suspect that when someone is thrown under the bus like this it’s an act of deflection. The real issue is deflection from what?

Looks like you could be right mate.
Looks like Starmer thought getting shot of her would draw a line under it, and it would all just go away…not so. (I am glad to say )
More ‘scandal’ to come out apparentlly.

(I feel like Franglais gloating over Boris.:joy: )

This is what happens with self righteous people who condemned others, things have a habit of coming back and biting them on the arse.

To repeat myself once again…
They are all the 'kin same.

Oh ffs man.
Rob is banging on about his illegal kin immigrants AGAIN !

Yep…yer dead right.:sunglasses:

The old ‘‘Irregulars’’ in their ‘‘Hostels’’ routine again.

Just another news report pointing out that not only is there NO deterrent to come here from war torn France, but there is one hell of an incentive…
Proven by even more hotels being comandeered over Christmas to cope with the vastly increasing number of ‘‘families, Doctors, and Scientists’’ all arriving for their all inclusive freebies.

Whilst our pensioners are like this thanks to Starmer.

And this from a traditional left leaning comedian….

^^^^^^ Excellent clip…That guy just about sums the situation up in a nutshell.

Starmer’s ‘go to phrase’ used every time he is asked a question in Parliament, and on every tv interview, you are just waiting for it every time…‘‘The last government’’, oh yeah and his…‘‘black hole’’.

It’s like ‘‘Starmer Bingo’’, it used to be ‘‘My Dad was a toolmaker’’,.then when he got into power, and after his first of many f.ups, …the ‘‘Far Right’’.

With all the things that guy in the vid mentions, especially the way the govt actively ignores the disgracefull, illegal immigration scenario, and the way in general they are way out of touch with the mood of most people, it points out simply that they have turned our country into a joke, and in a record short time.

It is quickly getting towards the stage of ‘‘Come back the Tories all is forgiven’’ and who the hell in their right mind could have predicted that one ffs,.after their catalogue of f/ups .

To state the obvious i would say history every time labour gets in they screw the country into the ground and the tories have to come back and fix it. Trouble is i dont know if its salvageable the black hole that labor blamed the tories for because obviously it was nothing to do with their budget plans of trying to make a pound pay for a tenners worth of funding (who was dumb enough to believe that crock) has grown from 20 to 40 billion.

It is now law that you have to pay into a pension which is a snide move if you chose a private one it will be taxed making it worthwhile. If you pay into a government one who gets the money to play with… the government so they have sown that one up nicely. However dont forget that they are for the working man my arse

i saw a good video the other night explaining labours philosophy i know some will have umbridge with it

a man goes into a hotel and places a 50 dollar note on the reception desk and says he wants to go upstairs and look at the rooms available to see if there is one he likes. while he is upstairs the hotel owner takes the 50 dollars and pays the butcher for the meat he had bought happy and safe in the knowledge that the debt had been paid. the butcher takes the 50 dollars and pays his supplier happy and safe in the knowledge that the debt had been paid. The supplier takes the 50 dollars to the farmer that raised the cattle happy and safe in the knowledge that the debt had been paid. The farmer went to the feed supplier with the 50 dollars and his bill happy and safe in the knowledge that the debt had been paid . The feed supplier went to the prostitute with the 50 dollars and paid his bill happy and safe in the knowledge that the debt had been paid. The prostitute went to the hotel owner and paid her bill for the room she uses happy and safe in the knowledge that the debt had been paid. The hotel owner places the 50 dollars back on the reception desk just as the man comes down stairs and declares there isnt a room he likes and takes his 50 dollars back. Everyone in the town was happy that thier bills had been paid and there was no debt left.

The Tories and Labour.
Be afraid for the future…

As Bob Dylan once said…
‘‘Times they are a changin’’.

Why do call him a “traditional left leaning comedian”?
Why “traditional”? Why “left leaning”?
.

And why “comedian”?

Oh no, I’m cut to the quick. Your sparkling repartee has left me dumbfounded with no answer

Love the way he focuses on the commentator, his ability and style of delivery only… whilst ignoring the very relavant points the guy makes. ie the reason for the vid…and the reason you posted it.
If it had been an accurate and somewhat negative comment and analysis of the Tories reign in power this time last year he would have been all over it like a fly round a cow’s arse.

Now that IS comic.

@maoster started with a description of the person.
I replied to the subject he started.

And then @maoster made comment about my posting style.

Of course @robroy never passes comment on my posting style, etc, and only on the content…!

I get endless hours of pleasure showing you up…and your posting style mate.
And you supply me with no end of reasons for it.:joy:
Keep it up.

Still no comment on the vid content I notice.

Suggestion… just play with yourself for a minute…(no not that way,) but pretend the Tories and especially Johnson are still in power and the same vid content applies to them.

Give me 5 minutes to take cover though, I could not stand another 5 or 6 pages of your endless biased hate and drivel…

How’s that for a comment on your posting style btw?

Ten Minute Bill yesterday about Electoral Reform.
It passed by 3 votes, but because of the nature of such bills it is unlikely to go much further, and will be passed into law.

However a cross party committee was already set up last week, and maybe that will result in some other action later on in this Parliament that will result in some change.

If by reform you mean changes to the voting system, or P.rep, I can not see the 2 mainstream parties allowing it to change to that extent.
It will be like turkeys voting for Christmas from their pov.
They do pretty well with the present system, so why would they allow other parties to encroach.

labour must know by now that they haven’t got long left so need a system for those dumb enough to still vote for them to count. of course there is a large population that likes labour

The present Gov have chosen to set up a Cross Party Committee. They didn’t have to do so.

Of those making a free vote on the 10 min bill, there was a split of Labour MPs, zero Tories in favour, and RefUK Ltd were split, although it was actually in their manifesto!
