Am I alone in being irritated by pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders wearing these things? Even moped riders have them now. They don’t trick anyone except Sunshine bus passengers into thinking they’re police officers so why have them?
Nearly as bad as landowners who have signs put up saying “polite notice, no turning.” They get in the way when I’m trying to spin around.

I was in a Wyvale garden centre the other day, and a girl dressed up like a Romanian gypsy was mopping the floor… and wearing a hi viz. I became irritated.

As per usual you try and use one of my comments to have a dig at me, and fail miserably. I didn’t say I mistake them for coppers. I was having a dig and their intentions. I agree you’d have to be dense to think they were a copper, which makes their efforts even more laughable

As far as I’m concerned pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders wearing them is a non-issue. In fact at night I’d much prefer it so I can see them and avoid running them over. Despite all that there will still be ■■■■■ that completely miss them and nearly make more business for undertakers.
Even airline pilots wear these hiviz thingys while doing their pre flight walk around, in case they get run over by a 747 .

Horizontally flat means more width so you probably won’t be able to scrape past them without crossing the centre line anymore.
I can only assume you mean vertically flat, like the machines on which they ride, so you can give them as much room as you would a kerb.

heres a leccy meter reader doing all the ground floor houses in a scheme I was in the other day…checking seals…no rubber boots,no rubber gloves,but always with the hi viz and hardhat…just a complete waste of space,though its more likely to be the diddycoys wearing them when there out on the rob as they think it makes them look more legit…

Exactly. But it’s the ‘polite’ bit that’s meant to make you think it’s the rozzers. Same as the ones on bikes that buy a hi-viz and a white helmet. It probably fools someone but I couldn’t give a monkeys who they are.
I see what you mean, yeah, that’s stupid, if someone’s going to speed past someone in a hi-vis, they’re going to do it regardless unless they see blue flashing lights.
Whoever invented them should be kicked repeatedly in the face, they should be banned for impersonating the police
