Please need advice on doing my class 1

I’ve had my class 2 for 12 months and want to do my class 1…

I was thinking of doing it in a full size artic as I believe that the experience will serve me better once I pass (hoping) and get work. My reasoning is this…I did my class 2 in a 12t MAN in four days which was the most stressful thing I have ever done…thankfully I passed and got agency work at P&H Haydock. The first time I got behind the wheel of the DAF 18 tonner it felt bloody huge.

I have no desire to feel that uncomfortable again hence wanting to do it in a full size class 1 vehicle

Red Rose in Preston sound ok…can anyone give me any tips or advice?? Thanks a bunch

They are a recommended training school.

Thankfully you weren’t presented with a 32t 8 wheeler as your first rigid. It may have it you off driving for life lol.

In my opinion (and that’s all it is) WnD is the easier way to gain the category on your license. Then when it’s on there, you can do a 4 hour ‘refresher’ in an Artic without the pressure.

Best of luck whatever you choose.

Its much easier going from C to CE than it was when you went from B to C

thanks a bunch chaps

the 4 hour refresher in an artic sounds good. would red rose do that do you think?

Most schools do. They call it a refresher course.
