You might be able to help. I see a uk mail truck near enough every day on the road to Aberdeen pulling a fridge trailer. Do they use the fridge for something or is it maybe just on hire being used as a normal trailer? Just wondered cos I didn’t think they would do fridge stuff. [emoji1]

They use the fridges for Fish, they trunk this to the hubs, then it goes out on the regular nightly trunks to all the depots, then the vans deliver it
I am pretty sure Edinburgh have about 3 fridge trailers,
Not sure about the depot at Cambuslang, they might have a couple too.

I know when I have done overloads in the run up to Christmas, they would usually have a couple of fridges on the bays at Birmingham,
Then as the trunks came in, they would load the salmon & stuff that was in polystyrene coolers boxes onto them for overnight trunk, then next day delivery by the vans

Cheers toddy2. Didn’t realise they done temp controlled deliveries. You learn something new every day [emoji106]

It amazes me how much stuff they shift - be interesting to see how much changes now that DHL have taken over

Only heard they got taken over a couple of weeks ago. Not really heard much about it. I worked with Lynx when UPS took over and one of the first things the started doing was get rid of a lot of lynx work, particularly ugly freight. Will it U.K. Mail be rebranded and the name phased out soon? Must only leave tuffnels in the parcel to be bought over and done away with now!

The only good thing about it is the space in the cab, no big passenger seat to get in the way but the driver seat is too hard and uncomfortable and the gear box is sh#t!!
