So far so good mate. Office aren’t on your back at all, at 52 your never rushed! And the work is easy. Not to mention this week I’ll have made over £200 more than i would have at mcdowells doing the same hours.
Cheers
Jonny
Edit: All moved into the permanent steed. No dings in the side railings and little chipped paintwork.

First day with a theatre tour.
Working out hours to keep the tacho clean is a nightmare
Do you not have someone in the office dedicated to hours planning?
The music/sound company I work for plan one out for me. There’s always a lot of back and forward with things that change but it’s so much easier.
Driving hours are always easy to fit in, it’s the rest hours that become a pain.
Next time you see a poster for a band on tour, just look at it and think, where would I get my weekly rests in?
Nobody dedicated to route planning or figuring out hours. It’s a small operation with one unit, two trailers and one 7.5 tonne. I’ll even be downloading my own card.
The tour I’m covering at the moment is easy enough to figure out the hours as it’s mostly two to three days in a row with
about 4-5days inbetween runs.
I dont mind doing the route planning and working out hours tbh. At the moment it’s to my advantage as I’ve learnt a lot about how to use WTD and driving hours for my own benefit.
I figured out a formula that makes it work. The pain comes when I cant leave the truck at the venue and have to drive off and park up somewhere. It results in the load out being hour and half later than it should be because I usually use the ability to park up at the venue for a daily rest.
I found a couple of printouts of the last driver they had and it wasnt good. Made some interesting reading
