Got handed the keys to the new truck to our fleet this weekend at the age of 22 I’m over the moon with it :slight_smile:

Now Now, the lad is all happy, at 22 yrs he hasn’t had the oportunity to experience a proper motor, so lets leave him in his little world of bliss for now :wink:

Other than it being to do with My comments here, and yes I personaly loath DAF, I turned down a new DAF SS in the june 2013 in favour off keeping the 08 plate Scania I was driving at the time. I’m happy for the Lad to have a nice new Motor, its always good to get an untarnished motor with delivery miles only, as I did in august 2013 when a brand new R440 Topline turned up for Me, how pleased was I to have not had the Daf 2 months earlier :wink:

So we are all different, I know lads who swear by the DAF, but I’ve never been able to get on with them.

Also, each to their own, but I will never put a current picture on here, just to keep My identity private, from any one whom might employ Me and not agree with comments I make :wink:

I had that in the back off My mind, but wasn’t sure for certain. I’d get a good few more boxes moved at those weights and lengths :wink:

Nice motor but given the choice would you take that over a V8? Have they cured the long running issues with poor battery charging yet? Many in DK wouldn’t start after being stood for a weekend, Volvo seemed to bury head in sand over it.

alas, no FH16 for me, problems with the flywheel and high fuel consumption compared to a 13-litre made sure the only 16l engines in kauritel will be in a scania :frowning:

and I was just doing my dishes for god sake :smiley:

I would definitely take it over a V8 as the interior is superb! so many compartments to put your stuff in, the outer lockers too. the reclining bed as well. have heard of problems with charging, but at least this one sat for three days before I turned a key.

Yes fair point, you’ll have to make sure your truck has ‘isofix’ baby seat attachments for when Milodon Minor comes along to oversee things! Are we nearly there yet pappy?

haha, it might be time soon to take the first offspring for a trip with me but the second one will be due in july, I certainly won’t be taking pictures of my truck in a layby somewhere then :smiley:

Not the typical picture but how it can look after a drive up in the snow. Was the last truck to get to Bjornfjell toll station before they closed the road because of the storm. Passed snow 1m high at some places. Didn’t get any fresh air anymore when I arrived at the border so decided to have look and think I found out why :smiley:
After 26h i got to go down to Norway, second truck. Still trucks stuck there 12h later :slight_smile:

About FH4 charging I know of one delivered just a couple of weeks ago still with the charging cable so it doesn’t sound like it’s sorted out.
