Is all that yellow vinyl ? If so a job for the heat gun so long as the paints good underneath.

It is all vinyl, but sadly it has been double stickered, and even with the heat gun, I have pulled a lot of paint off

not a good result - have to paint it now

That ERF used to come in to our place and take trailers away for service and MOT. Now I know why I’ve not seen it in a while.
I found a pic of it in its original livery:

I hope their trailer service is better than their vehicle maintenance,
They certainly didn’t give the old ERF much love

They have a CF DAF now in place of the Olympic

Our trailers all came from Hill Hire/Ryder and they sometimes subbed jobs out to CEM if they were too busy to do it themselves. Are you putting it on the road to work or using it for show?

Sorry I’ve only just seen this so probably too late.

The best thing to get stick on vinyl off is a steam wallpaper remover. You need to just lift the edge of the vinyl, with a plastic scraper (you can get ones special designed for the signwriting industry) to expose the glue then put thw steamer on it. Big bits you can get off very quick as once you get started you can fold a big bit back on itself and get the steam right on the edge that’s still glued.

We used to use a heat gun on it and would always end up taking a bit of top coat off somewhere but since using this method we can get it off perfectly.

You can get a rubber power drill mounted wheel for taking smaller lettering off but again have found this steaming method better. You use some label glue removing fluid while the glue is softened and warmed by the steamer and the sticky residue basically wipes straight off.

Thanks OwnAccount, as you say, bit late to save the paint on this one, but handy to know to get the rest off,
and may help someone else too !
