Hi, looking for some advice please.
If I drive a company car for 3 hours and then come back in a company hgv should my card be in slot
2? I believe this is legally correct?
Furthermore can I drive the hgv back to my depot with the original driver moving his card to slot 2?
Taking the the legally required breaks of course.

Yes if you’re in the passenger seat rather than driving.
The travelling time to the HGV vehicle should be recorded manually as other work.
Yes as long as the other driver won’t be going over a 13/15 hours spread-over so he can comply with the daily rest requirement.
Just to add, that the driver returning to base, sitting in passenger seat, with his card in slot 2, will have his time with the vehicle moving as POA. This is how the tachos are set up.
The first 45 minutes will count as break, so that driving time will be reset (if he has any left!)
Time in the passenger seat is not in any way part of Daily Rest.
