So, it’s time to upgrade the phone! I use it for maps and traffic updates regularly. Primarily an iPhone user (I have had android in the past, but it always seemed to get laggy after a while and end up being a little bit ■■■■■■■ However, I’m willing to give android another go with the new note 7 coming out. Apple maps seems pretty decent and shows all road closures live and traffic collisions and delays. What’s google maps like? Is it just as good?
P.s yes, I know how an atlas works you old fogeys.
Psst! Google Maps app works just fine on iPhones. (Although, Google maps enjoys sending you around the houses, literally, at the first sniff of a delay - if a road’s got speed humps/islands or some other bloody traffic “calming” measures, Google is going to try sending you down it). Apple Maps seems a bit more main-road tolerant.
Why have an Android when you can have a iPhone that you’re already familiar with and like?

Yeah, that’s true. I was just curious as to which was better with regards to maps. Been a while since I owned an android. Wasn’t sure if it was a better option now…
I’ve got a iPhone and never used Apple maps once in my puff. The Google map app works perfectly on iPhone. I wouldn’t touch a android or Windows phone with a barge pole. Peasants!
I can’t comment on iPhone my boys use em but the youngest spent the last 2 years on android because he found it better but the new I phone came out and changed this year.
I think as long as you keep your software up to date and clean your phones memory as you should do like a PC androids fine.
It depends what you use it for as I phones are directed towards music and is nothing more than an iPod with a phone attached

Maybe so!
Does gall me I’m not lining the pockets of the worlds most profiteering company sometimes though.

I used to use Apple maps, but would never bother again.

The one thing I like about apple when it comes to the road closures on the maps is it will actually tell you from junction to junction the actual closure. It’s ideal for night time. Does Google do the same thing?

Not really I’ve no music on my 6s its mainly used for satnav and truck timer
My main is a windows phone which I do have a truck nav app on but it holds all my music with ease much better to use than the iPhone. Personally I wouldn’t have android give to me free.
