Didnt realise Hotpoint did HGV tumble driers!!

One of their own dryers perhaps.

I’m sure there is a one stop shop for replacements, try thai-brides.com!!

Don’t suppose Canute will be too worried if their trailer smells of smoke!

5 youths arrested apparently.

Ken.

Good job the trailer did not have cladding

Yup. Aged 14-18. Nothing to do in summer hollydays.

I did shunting in a whirlpool yard back in 2011 on agency. Old washing machines being part-exchanged and outright scrapped - fill the trailers, that then get lined up for later transport to a “certificate of destruction” type facility elsewhere.

This yard saves a lot of money now “because some cheap old trailers containing scrapped washing machines went up in flames” - just the same as all these yards stockpiling waste plastic or tyres that “mysteriously catch fire” - from “chinese lanterns falling upon the stack” - or so we’re told…

5 teenagers were arrested, we get told. I wonder if any of them has any connections to the suits that work for the company…?

All very suspicious indeed, along with the uniformity of this “blaze”, and how difficult it must be to set fire to mostly metal containers full of mostly white goods… Hmm…

Who is running YOUR washing machine.jpg
Would you really let a complete stranger - operate YOUR washing machine?

Ever seen a trailer go up? I once saw what turned out to be a bulker of sand go up and thought how is that possible, and still do, but it did go up and went up with gusto!

I’d imagine curtainsiders provide added fuel too.

Well thats a load of trailers that wont need servicing/moting :grimacing:

on the news the manager sounded quite happy the lot had gone up. as said above does seem convenient . Years back i knew a scrappy used to line up about 20 cars set on fire at night all burnt out nicely by the morning. id wager that the hotpoint fire put out emissions equal to a million trucks yearly output

Who remembers this??
Also Whirlpool back in 2005 at Paddock Wood in Kent
Hmmmm…is there a trend here■■? …just sayin’

40 new trailers please Laurence David. Who just happens to be round the corner…

One can only hope their parents are held financially responsible.

In Germany you have to carry family/ household insurance incase your family member or family pet causes damage or accident . If your child , dog or cat runs infront of a vehicle and causes an accident they claim off you , if your family causes damage they claim off you .
It might make a few parents take more of an intrest in their feral brats if huge bills were presented for their deeds .

I did the same shunting job on agency the same year. I recall how incredibly boring a 12 hr shift was when only 5 trailer movements were needed all day.

The white goods I saw loaded were all protected by a lot of polystyrene.

I wonder what Greta will have to say about all of this, or will she go off an another pointless voyage.

I didn’t see any polystyrene around the machines, but the wires frequently were wrapped around, with the plugs cut off already.

Spent most of my time sitting in the security hut, drinking coffees all day with the guard… As you say, about 5 movements per day, and one of those was a bowel movement. :stuck_out_tongue:

A VERY rare “Week on earlies” for me there.
