Does anyone remember John D Burns haulage of Perth? I can walk to the yard from Perth station in my 10 year old head but can’t locate it on Google. I know a lade ran past it and it was a right turn off the road Perth Baths was on. Not sure when he started but he was operating either just before or during the war. One of his big gripes was that his fleet of brand new Foden’s was requisitioned by the forces. I was even christened deliberately with the same initial so the trucks wouldn’t need re-painting. But a murky end involving cousins and family intrigue saw an end to the business. My grandfather lived and golfed on driving a light truck in his latter years.
My Father often went in the trucks on jobs, hence his liking for boiled tea…
I’d love to hear any stories and facts about the company etc.
