Hi lads,
Where is the best place to get a quote to move an oversize pallet (it’s actually an antique cast iron bath the missus has bought.)
It’s from West Kilbride , Scotland to Aylesbury Bucks …And I suppose I will have to get an oversize pallet and wrap the ■■■■ thing up myself too!
No great hurry at all ?
If it is good condition and valuable then the pallet networks are probably best avoided owing to the number of occasions it will be handled. Do any of your local haulage companies do Scotch and would be able to add it to a return load? Once in their yard you could collect it yourself. You might find a local light haulage company who would do it on the same basis if it is not urgent.

Yep to buy would be £800+…that’s why I have not contacted a palletways or similar as we all know the score there …
i would think your better of hiring a van and getting it yourself ,you don’t have to do it in a day you could fetch your wife with you and make a weekend out of it ,

I have spoken to Maxi in Scotland and they can bring it to Warwick from their depot by the looks of it …on the back of their regular overnight trunk for not a lot of money.
So unless someone else has a better answer ?
It’s coming down Tuesday in a curtainsider that’s on its way further south.
Cost £30 as a cashie and £10 to the security guard when I pick it up from about 10 miles from home when I return.
Result !

nice one ,didn’t need our advice then eh
Sort of…cannot say to much as his Office bods or TM may be reading this !
So this expensive and fragile item that you wouldn’t trust palletways with is now being sent with someone stupid enough to risk their job for £30. Not sure I’d want anyone with no common sense or honesty moving my property.
