Morning all!
I’ve heard that class 1 driver training doesn’t count towards the 35 hours of periodic training. Is that the case for all driving schools?
Cheers

It can count but the school must have the practical training hour approved for dcpc - I do not think many have it so check with the provider first
You might find some on the JAUPT courses site
And just because the school is JAUPT approved does not necessarily make the course JAUPT approved.
Check that the actual CE course is JAUPT approved.
good man
does it come down to whether the provider uses full size C+E vehicles?
I cant make my mind up whether to do WnD at Town and Country in Bickerstaffe or full size artic at Red Rose in Preston
It’s a really hard decision to make…!

Those providers which have dcpc approved for on-road practical training will have it approved for all vehicles in most cases if they are canny
CE with artic or W&D ■■? - check with former diiscussions on this as it has been discussed many many times recently

We have got JAUPT approval for the first day of both the Cat C and C+E courses to count as 7 hours periodic training. We are currently working on getting approval for some of the other days to be able to count as well. The test day would not be able to have approved as the test could not be considered training and also periodic training must NOT be based around a test.
From my investigations it seems that many LGV training providers that have this approved and have done so by getting a single 7 hour course approved and then, apart from test day, can use that 7 hours for as many days as the training course provides for
Those doing half day 1 to 1 courses can use that 7 hours over 2 days but if doing 2 to 1 then BOTH trainees can each use the 7 hours for each day
thank you, as ever, for the invaluable advice and information you have provided
I think I’m going to go for the full fat, super size option of artic…well i AM a glutton for punishment
