To right! ban pelmets , dreamcatchers pit pony curtains and any other crap people hang in their windows , just incase you dont know the windows are for looking through :smiling_imp: :imp:

Tin hat on and bracing for impact

HURRAH FOR COMMON SENSE AND DECENCY :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: and i thought it was only me :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I think come 1st feb their will be a lot of disgruntled drivers posting on here saying the Mr VOSA has ordered them to take down everything from the windscreen and anything that could obscure their view of the road and how they cant hide behind their curtains any more :exclamation: :exclamation:

you can put whatever you want in your wndscreen as long as its not in the windscreen sweep the only thing allowed stuck to the screen in the sweep is the sat nav holder. Whats the problem if a driver wants to his wagon looking good with curtains/ pelmets. Its a shame that there are less and less drivers nowadays who take any pride in there work place I have been in wagons that drivers are working in on a daily basis and tbh i wouldnt let my dogs sleep in them. If you dont like extras in your wagon leave the lads alone who do

Only one way to sort this out…FIGHT!!!

Also, you can have a clean cab and none of the cheap tat especially, Spanish bull fighting arrows (usually displayed by drivers whose only experiance of Spain is on an all inclusive holiday).

Off subject slightly, but one ot the funniest things I saw years ago was a driver from Nottingham, delivering to Aberdeen wearing the complete line-dancing outfit…

I worked at one place where the driver of a DAF Space Cab cut an arch in the central curtians, the ones that run across the centre of the truck, separating the bunk from the seats!! :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Then he attached frilly tassles around the edge of what was left

Oh dear…the boss was not ,err, very happy lets say!!!

yeah ive met a few of them best one was a young lad (knew it all been everywhere) the stetson and all in carisio truckstop (northern italy) talked ■■■■ all weekend when asked where he was going he stated (only an hour down the road to madrid!!) when we told him he was an hour from milan and in the wrong country he was about crying we never laughed so much he must have felt a right ■■■■ in his cowboy outfit

No problem here mate, they look good in my opinion and show a driver cares about his truck which is probably his home 4 or 5 nights a week. Fair play. I don’t have flags or any other stuff on the windscreen though apart from a pelmet which only drops to the level of the sunvisor so no obstruction. Side window curtains usually tied well back when driving.

This is like the loadsa extra lights debate…you love them or hate them. For the record I also like extra lights, six on a top bar at least and leds wherever.

Bite? Don’t bite? Bite? Don’t bite? Or shall i just claim i don’t care?

OK! Listen carefully, I DON’T CARE!

If someone wants to put a rubber ■■■■■ in their windsreen, So [zb]ing what.

I’m not one for all that bling, But we are all different.

The only thing that needs banning is people who want to ban things.

I have to look at ■■■■■ through the windscreen all day, i guess one more wouldn’t make much difference

That’ll teach ya to park up in Canal St, Manchester

I’m one of those who doesn’t bother about blinging the truck up but like to keep things clean and tidy. In fact part of my job is to ensure that the truck is kept to high standards of presentation and I have to wash it every time I get to my destination.
Personally stuff in the windows is okay provided it doesn’t affect visibilty and how you decide to bling a truck up is up to you and your boss. And who am I to say that you are wrong, but then just because I don’t feel the need to bling my trucks up it doesn’t mean I don’t care.

Maybe i should leave it there!

Dreamcatchers, Pelmets, Spanish bull fighters equipment, sat navs, Photos of Jesus, Crucifixes, shrines to any God in particular, Laptops, dvd players, TVs, super furry animals ( not the band) book shelves, small dining tables and any other crap that obscures the drivers vision within the sweep of the wiper blades is contrary to Construction and Use regulations. Using a fitted visor is ok because it has been constructed to be used for that purpose.

I had a driver in today who Im sure had less vision out of his window than I used to get out of the periscope in my Chieftain…
