It doesn’t do the driver a lot of good either :unamused:

When they re-engined my C reg Foden they fitted a well worn Rolls engine from a Sed Ak that was worse than the ten year old one they removed, however they didn’t tell me that they also fitted a shutter and a Dynair fan that came with the engine! My first load was dust to a site at Willenhall and it was a very warm day, I pulled on site and a chap came over to ask what I had on. Then there was a loud roaring noise, the fan had kicked in and the chap vanished in a cloud of dust that the fan dragged up from the ground! :open_mouth: He wasn’t happy, of course he thought that I had done it on purpose but until then I knew nothing about a Dynair! :unamused:

Thanks for the info Simon.

Dean, his yard was on the road near Masters Quarry, it may have been an old quarry itself, Wareham Ball Clay possibly? I’m sure someone else will be able to clarify. According to my old man he bought a few site tippers to stick on the Wareham or Bere Regis bypass job and it went from there, he tended to buy a lot of stuff from ARC for various jobs here and there, still runs half a dozen vehicles I think, an interesting man to speak to.

FB_IMG_1647689591702.jpg

Preistner were from Manchester, fairly big company in its day but I think they have packed up now.

Regarding the left hand drive MAN of H & S Transport,it was originally part of P & O group but was sold to 2 Dutch guys some time ago so is now privately owned with the UK office in Killingholme

Hi Dean Great looking over the last few pages, the tidy Daf from Rhayader is one of Huw Thomas and daughters, when I was organising the transport at Glandels they would occassionally come in and backload to Cardiff. Gerry Jones was a regular to. It may be of interest to you but I’ve found the sales brochures from Beacon Hill for the Mastiffs that they had in the mid 70s and a brochure from Tillotsons at Southampton for the Marathon which they never had but may of been thinking of,I will try to suss out how to post them on here!! I see Francis Bugler on a regular basis and ironically Dave Eaton phoned me and I have to catch up with him next week so will see if I can rummage through any pictures they have! Cheers

Morning “Dorset” Thanks for the info on the DAF. We have had loads of Gerry Jones motors on here. I never realised you worked at
Glandels. Its such a shame Beacon Hill Brick Company closed down as i miss seeing there motors, and as a kid used to tip pummice there
in my grandads trucks that used to come into Poole on ships. We have had a few of Francis Bugler’s red brick motors on here an his brothers
Reg. That would be great if you can get any pics from Francis or Dave Eaton. Will send you a private message later .
