PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Dean B
The 1735 on the Wimborne by pass could well have belonged to Sean Clarke ( N.S Clarke ) from Lichfield.
The Nottingham registration would fit.

Spot on Allan, it is one of Clarkie’s,

Hi Dean,
The Scania looks like one of R.K Transport based in Willenhall, supplied by Keltruck West Bromwich

Almost certainly George Hammond from Sittingbourne Kent. Shame the photo is a bit too blurry to read the number plate but looks like it might be an M reg. It also has the original livery, as soon after that they only had Hammond written on the side in large letters

Hi,
I think it’s a pretty safe bet that the red ERF belonged to Ken Mcdonald ( K & M Tpt: ) from Swansea.
He set up on his own after driving for Lloyd Bros Gorseinon back in the day and ran a few motors with his sons driving the others.
Before I retired in 2011 i would see them at Colour Steels in Crosskeys from where they did a lot of work.
The photo could well have been taken on the A467 towards Crosskeys
Regards, Allan

Hi Allan,
The red ERF was one of Ken Mcdonalds.

Regards Mark

Hi mark, you home or away I been on local today been looking out for you

The sunny Scania artic looks like one of British Alcans

tonyj105:
"DEANB"chassis looks to be a Bedford VAL , probably bodged a cab onto the front, several caravan transporters in the UK did that in the 70’s .

Your not supposed to get it right first time Tony. :unamused:

my dad ran coaches and he was going to buy a VAL with duple bodywork, but chucked the coaches in and just concentrated on his lorries , i had the misfortune of loading a VAL once, he only bought the bloody thing for the engine gearbox and axles, took the roof out in market harborough , dad said 'it’ll be ok keep going , shortly followed by a rather loud crunch.

:unamused:   Classic story Tony.
