m.a.n rules:
T A C stood for turners asbestos cement, I think eternit was the group they belonged to. they had a factory in tamworth, long gone now houses.
I don’t think they had their own transport always used subbies.
Good stuff “m.a.n.rules” thanks for the info !
windrush:
Bellfield Brothers are from Thorncliffe near Leek, still in business.
I notice there isn’t a pic of the six wheeler Constructor that Mick (Malmic on here) ran, it would have required a VERY fast shutter speed to photograph that flying machine!
Pete.
Thanks for the comments Pete, i assume he never hung around !

lespullan:

“kevmorrow”
Off the subject 1969 I worked for an Irish haulier Williames Transport Group pulling out of Trafford Park, we had a depot at Farrow Road Wednesbury (that does not exist anymore) believe part or near to the old site KTC building.
Cheers Kev
i collected at KTC Wednesbury,it was then on the old Patent Shaft steelworks site and the gates were still in situ butnow saved and displayed, got pics but can’t post since the settings have been changed
Thanks for the input “revman” yes the settings are a major pain. Have you tried editing your pics ? I find if you reduce stuff
down to 90% they should load on the site ok.

"Piston broke"Weren’t Rygor from Westbury, Wilts? Not sure (can’t remember!) how big they were or if they had more than one depot…
Hi piston broke,
Your right there imo.I think there was also a Merc dealership? Rygor commercials, all part of the same group?
Regards Andrew.
Yes you are both right ,had a quick look at there website and they have a fair few depots around.
smallcoal:
Rygor commercials got a merc dealership in Swindon ,I had a problem with the truck called in there they had a look at it found the fault and done it only there an hour better service than euro commercials Cardiff
Cheers John.
grumpy old man:
I used to deliver fuel oil to de Mulders in Doncaster
I had my one and only industrial accident there. One 2oft high storage tank only had a manhole in the top for delivery, steel ladder welded to the side of the tank for fit young drivers (me
) to climb with a delivery hose. Well your man got to the top few rungs and the welding on the ladder failed
down I come via the express route and the next stop was Doncaster Hospital.
I didn’t know at the time that I’d fractured a couple of vertebrae in my spine (just felt a bit sore) but now all these years later arthritis has set in and I curse de Mulders on a daily basis.
Sorry to hear about your back “GOM” but the comment “express route” was funny.
