Dean B.R.Saunders are from Walton on Thames and they do a lot of steel deliveries, the F88 has a Hampshire registration so Gazzer or Harvey may know the answer to that one, Buzzer.
Thanks for the comments Buzzer.

Gary Charlwood was based in Sandwich. He ran a handful of trucks from the 1970’s, doing mostly traction work from Dover & Ramsgate. Eventually, in the late 90’s / early 2000’s he was in a spot of bother with the ‘Ministry’. By then the majority of his work was with Eric Mattheeuws from Veurne, Belgium, so Charlwood became Mattheeuws Uk, based in Dover.
Thanks for the info “kmills” ! " he was in a spot of bother with the Ministry ! "

kmills:
H.J.Cage were based at the bottom of Borstal Hill in Whitstable - they started out as coal merchants in the 1920’s - loading coal from Whitstable harbour.
I never knew they ran this Scania - in later years they ran Mercs, mostly on local work, though they had 2 trucks on full time German groupage work, untill they packed up in about 1991. They ran a commercial workshop from their yard too, but eventually it all became houses.
Thanks again chap for the info !

"DEANB"Whats going on here then chaps ■■?
I reckon the driver was having a laugh and popped a F89 badge on it,when its actually a F88.
Morning Dean, yes I think you are right, badges were cheep and it has the 290 grill.
The factory were fussy about maintaining standards ( a name not understood to much these days) and any deviation would take place at the end of a production type run when new updates were about to take place.
The main changes I came accross were due to accidents, missing the pin would need a new air stack etc etc and I remember a cab change in P&O yard your way and the fitter was having the time of his life with “this will fit” so I think hybreds are more likely to be found this way, just my own thinking. Harvey
Thanks for your comments Harvey.
Paul sent me these pics of two newer trucks of British Gypsum and Spiers & Hartwell which i posted on Monday.
