M.I.R.A, we did a lot of resurfacing there. Following a road roller doing about ten mph around the banking in a Foden six wheeler loaded with tarmac was a real ‘arse clenching’ time! It felt like you were falling out of the door and everything on the engine cover landed up on the cab floor!
We did have a couple roll over there, no real damage done though.
Pete.
Pete looking at the pic it does look steep chap ! That obviously brought back some memories.
Chris Webb:

A E Evans did a lot of work for them out of Longport Staffs and their refinery at Harwich.

Hello <DEAN ,and thank you very much for that article on the Clywedog Dam feature ,the Leyland Retriever is Tudor Griffiths from Ellesmere Shropshire who at the time had their own sand quarries ,that was used for the building of the Dam .
The Albion 4 tipper is Cyril Forrester from nearby Whixhall ,who had 2 Foden 8 wheel tippers on the same job 24/7 .

Hi Trevor ,always wondered where S M Davies are from ,see them down this way quite a lot with T Alun Jones ,fair play you have some very well turned out motors up your way ,puts some of ours in the shade !
Dean anexcellent selection of Welsh motors ,thanks .MT
Glad you like the pics “MT”
I dont know why this S.M.Davies DAF is a different colour to the MAN ? Maybe one of them is under contract to a company ? Personally i prefer
the green one. It reminds me of trucks from the 1970s with the great colour schemes and sign writing !
