New Venture Carpets Maggie.
From the logo on the door, I’d suggest it belonged to HT Transport of Westbury

Morning All…Lovely to see the Himpsold Volvo F86 again. We used to see them in Sheerness Docks loading paper or timber products back in the 70s & early 80s. I don’t remember them ever having anything other than the F86s though and what ever happened to them?
The Transheld Guy was another blast from the past as they had a depot just down the road from me in Faversham…Also what about Staveley Bros Daf! great stuff, thanks again for sharing these wonderful photos.
Talking about “blast from the past” “Mark R” where have you been…
Thanks for the comments,
glad you are still enjoying the pics.
240 Gardner:
I used to sub work to Himpsold occasionally in the early to mid 80s, and I think they finished sometime before 1990 - I vaguely recall that they packed up, but didn’t go bust
BOC are still in Faversham, but are now rebranded as Gist. (Or Gits, if you like…)

Retired Old ■■■■:
When I was at Himpsold the motors were all ERF with just a pair of bull-nosed Mercs. I’ve been trying to work out when I was there- it must have been around 1972 as my ERF, J-reg was about a year old when I got it. Maurice Scrivens was transport manager, with a habit of throwing office equipment around if anyone upset him. A stickler for doing things by the book, you had to be very clever to get one past him!
They finally packed in when the owners were made an offer they couldn’t refuse for the yard- it’s now a housing estate.
Thanks for your comments “ROF” . “throwing office equipment around”
