Hi Dean, nice Febrys photos the last ERF bulk tanker was a ex Allied mills motor, nice W H Brown tanker.Todays selection is a Healings fleet line up from 1991 I think from memory.
Wonderful set of photos today Dean… Hope Mark wasn’t standing in the middle of the road when these trucks came round the corner!.. This is a great picture, with the driver clearly visible, I’m always intrigued as to who they are and if there still around. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Great Febrys pics Dean, thanks for putting them up
Their old yard is 100 yards from my house - all built on now. Such a shame for a well respected firm. I still see quite a few of their ex employees around, including a couple of the fitters, and they all say it was a brilliant company to work for. Of all the many Febry’s that had lorries in this area, there is just one left! Progress ain’t always good…
Hi great photo of cadwallader bros haven’t got a photo of that one ex Williams bros one of 3 that came from B&W motors that would be carrying ash from Rugeley power station we don’t have many photos so it’s great to see them
Cheers Ian
I took my driving course and test in one of those Dodges in 79. There was a lot of bloody good words to describe it but ‘‘GREAT’’ was certainly not one of em.
Morning all,
Very seldom do I get the feeling the truck is taking me for a ride, but I did with this “tired” Middle aged girl.
We all get to judge power by the hills we know and she was about 400 not 460 on more than one hill at 43.3 tons, however with 764,000 on the clock in very good nick.
Q: would I have swoped it for an F88, yes yes every day of the week, these have no sole. Harvey
Buzzer:
Dean the nearest thing I can think of on that Merc coming out of Poole docks is Matsolex of Southampton, cheers Buzzer.

Talking of F88’s Harvey how about this one !
“ROF” make sure you have taken your medication before looking at this !
Always thought this was a bit odd,why the Army would be ordering Volvo trucks.Scanned this a while back
and then found this letter mentioning the same trucks.
