Lambson MAN Chemical Tanker
Lambson was established in 1960 and operated from a Head Office in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, UK. Throughout the 1960/1970’s the Company had interests in Chemical Distribution (Lambson Ltd), Chemical Transportation (Fearns Tankers and Transport) They manufactured chemicals at their Castleford works. The bulk distribution business, known as Lambson Speciality Chemicals was sold to Koppers Inc in 2005.
Thanks Dean for posting the interesting article at the top of this page.
On reading it in full all the manufactures were, at the time, upbeat regarding their future but it makes rather sad reading as in reality today almost all of those companies mentioned are long gone such as the likes of ERF, Foden, Seddon Atkinson, Dyson Trailers, Gardner Engines, Jennings Coachworks Ltd and Duple Coach Builders to name but a few.

I’ve no idea who did the curious sleeper conversion on the Eastham Kitchens’ 400 Series, but I have Atkinson’s negatives of this motor when brand new, as a day cab.It operated out of Copse Road, Fleetwood, along with at least one 200 Series. As I recall, Eastham folded in the mid 1980s
One of Eastman Kitchens early vehicles was this Leyland Comet luton van.
Eastman Kitchens later joined forces with kitchen appliance company Burco of Rose Grove in Burnley.
This enabled them to supply a fully fitted kitchen complete with integrated Burco appliances.
Thanks Paul, the old Leyland comet looked the part ! Nice pic.

Hi dean this is the colour change rcy510y is in the top pic in the new livery
Thanks John for the pics ! I dont know about you but i prefer the old colours.I would imagine alot of
companies stopped spraying there trucks in company colours due to the price, especially if you had a
large fleet. That is probably why we see so many boring white trucks.

Cheers Dean,
A number of their drivers used to night out in Ross on Wye in the late 70’s early 80’s and always remember them saying what a good job it was. By 1981, the British Telecommunications Act was passed and the service became British Telecom in October that year. Everything changed when BT was floated on the stock exchange in 1984 and it wasn’t long after that the company adopted this insipid livery.

The livery reminds me of VP Wines but it has a WX West Riding reg plate. Looks like it’s a foodstuff tanker, edible oils etc…
Could it be an SandR contract tanker Chris?
