Manro was a place I hated with a bloody passion, took forever to get rid of 5000 galls of Toluene in there.

Dog tired:
At last, my old firm A J Gregory but not my lorry sadly, I live in hope it will pop up sometime.

It’s possible that ERF is the one I did a trip to London in (didn’t rate it at all, Mandator heaps better IMO), the plain box trailer I pulled
for miles with the F88 290 I had new in Jan 75.

The Daf came new before my 88 and was given to a great lad called Hughie his previous lorry was The Big Pig, Atki Borderer 220 ■■■■■■■
and 10 speed fuller, Hughie had the Daf several months before demanding The Big Pig back complaining the Daf was a poofters lorry lol.

Also Dean on p76 pic of Carrington Viyella ERF is that Pattons AEC and bulk trailer going the other way. Cheers Norman.

Heres a pic of HDV831N Norman, not my shot by the way,Cheers Bubbs,

2017-07-14 10.42.53.jpgMalcolm Healey launched Humber Kitchens in 1976.
Five years later In 1981 he acquired the Hygena brand name and In 1987 he sold Humber kitchens to MFI netting £200 million, not bad for 11 years work.

While on the subject of MFI (remember them) John Marsh & Son of Blackpool (BVT) used to have a regular contract hauling their trailers.
On 19 December 2008 all 111 MFI stores were closed after they went into liquidation.

Glyn John used that type of trailer whilst hauling bones and offal into Leiners at Treforest …DEAN amazing pics as usual …Love the Maldwyn davies of Hirwaun F88 …Geraint .

Medicine Dean! I’ll medicine the computer one of these days!!!
What I was going to say was he was a lucky man with that trailer, I had a 5 week spell running offal from Croda Mkt Harboro Warrington (?) With tipper. Sheeting up was a horror, bartled up. Missis made me swap work clothes, morning n night, in the outside toilet. Best bit I did tarmac in between the smell was out of this world. Misiss burnt all me clothes and me boots in the end. The things you do for a shilling

Tamworth I seem to remember, used to run along side with them in the 70s big ERF men n well kept fleet, gone now I think

GAO 348K was later written of Chris when it left the road and went over the edge on the A702 Biggar Road, Edinburgh.
It was fully loaded with Burtons biscuits, fortunately the driver walked away with just bruises.

Hi dean, a bit trivial, but the humber kitchens daf is probaly a 2200 not a 2800. the photos keep getting better and better. hope to see one of mine on one day, as iused to be up and down ross bypass practically every day with this ford running out of Triwall europe in monmouth with corrugated packaging

2017-07-14 10.36.26.jpgPowered by a Detroit engine Pickfords Scammell Crusader Reg No XUU 908T was new in October 1978.
After life at Pickfords it had it’s chassis stretched and was transformed into a recovery truck by Millers of Longton who
operated it until November 2007.

Bubbs you are a star thanks so much, i’m sure a photo was taken when i had her home one weekend but i cant find it.
I’m gone all misty eyed now (silly old sod).
I have no idea where that pic was taken but the truck wasn’t very old when pic was taken because it’s not had N/S mirror arm
modification by John King ace mechanic to stop me breaking the mirror glass.

What about that Dean i’m made up now.
Cheers Norman.
