142s are everywhere so it’d be great to see a 112 restored.
Ta, I’m a way inland myself, but I’ll keep an eye* out.
[potato, eye, get it? ;)]
That just isn’t ‘sitting’ right.
The cab’s not fully down.
Clicking on original image and magnifying shows the drive wheels sitting in a dip.
Oily
The MkV Mandator looks brand new
yes mate. this one still has polythene on the back of the cab and headlining. even wheel rims are original. Old girl has only done 400.000ks since 1983.
Would this be Buzzers? H.Baker at Bradford had one which apparently threw flames out of the exhaust according to one of their old drivers. AEC never cured it and it was sold on.If it was Buzzers have you any tales on how it performed?
Ramone that Mammoth Minor twin steer was my first artic on the road the first being a Mandator but with a 680 engine which was putrid so sold it on without using it and bought this of an OD from Gillingham Dorset. Later I had the second steer axle taken out making a long WB mandator, it had the AV760 engine straight 6 box and went really well but no flames out the side, had it on round timber so was always well freighted, later had a sleeper pod put on the back of the cab which was luxury over 40 years ago after sleeping on boards across the engine, Buzzer
I think it was you that posted a photo of an AEC loaded or loading with hay would this be the same motor or did you have more?
Probably in launch mode, ready for the off
I wonder what country this export Leyland was heading for . Complete with specialist trailer too! Super Comet? That’s probably a crew-cab rather than a sleeper.
Pigeons, LS?
I thought the same. Perhaps that’s why it’s a LHD lorry: drive to Spain, let the load fly home under its own steam, flog the wagon and fly home yourself
Horses ? Buzzer
If you zoom in you can see the racks so I think it’s probably pigeons.
None of that mucking about with backloads either. Job done.
Only if they’re very very very tiny ones.
