The wrong place being Australia in my case
I was just curious whether you can still buy proper spud and apple varieties in StarmerLand, and thankfully you can.

Oooh a Barnes coach, from my home town
Good to hear you can still get proper spud and apple varieties, I remember the old tube-shaped spuds (they are tubers after all) and the different textures and tastes. Sweet potato will put out root/ shoot radicles off any top/ tail waste in a compost heap, providing itās not too frosty.
After having consulted with my step-mother in Central Coast NSW, she confirms that King Edwards are readily available down there. That may not be the case if you live in Nhulumbuy.
ye its was ken morrison how bought the land and built the shopping centre. He rented the other units out. i think morrisons still own it all
i was at morrisons at 5 lane ends over Christmas. was telling missus this were they built jowett cars. After that it was international harvester building tractors. Haha she wasnāt a bit interested
Like the 6 legger tractor unit pulling a lowloader with a bulldozer on at a NSW truckstop somewhere. I was interested in the height of the cab which really was unusual. So high that there was a great big gap between the front wheel and mudguard, through which I saw a great big yellow engine that reckoned, by the little logo, that it was only a Cat really.
how come you packed it all in Dennis
There were quite a few 6-wheeler KMs with tipper bodies, usually powered by the 460 engine.
Prior to me driving I did a weekās trip down South Coast with my mate in a KM flat with sideboards.
We were waiting to tip my mate went to toilet, guy came to me said āCan you reverse back on that bayāā
Hell yeahā¦could not wait, keen as mustard.
Yep I damaged the tail board.
Luckily my mate was like me a bit laid back, so we didnāt fall out.
Thing is though it was not his regular truck, and he had the driver to face.
Just everytime I see a pic of a KM, it reminds me.
@ramone Looks a bit heavy on the drive.
Inter-city transport had the Ford contract in the 1970s & we used to go down to the Ford tractor pad in Basildon to pick up tractors on flat bed trailers.
We had a couple of Ford Transcontinentals in those days & as my Ford D series unit was in for MOT I got my one & only drive in one as they were primarily day/night trunk motors.
Not me in the pic by the way, but itās the only pic I could find of one in Inter-City livery.
Itās the way itās stood facing downhill and being unloaded at the back.
You must have found one hell of a difference betwen the Transconti and your D series.
I was tipping at Chrysler Linwood with my D series day cab rigid.
Me and a lad in a Transconti artic had sat all day waiting, and then they knocked off and we were told to come back in morning for some reasonā¦
He dropped his trailer to go into town for summet to eat and a pint, and asked me if I fancied joining him.
Jeez I could not believe the size of the cab, Iād seen nothing like itā¦it was like being sat at front of a double decker bus compared to anything at the time, and it dwarfed my D series cab.
They were well ahead of their time in those days, but the weight stopped them from being as popular as they could have been at the time, when we were running at 32 tonnes.
Yeah it felt massive compared to the D series cab & quieter, the V8 motor in the D series was bloody loud as there was little soundproofing in the thing.
So long ago mate Iāve forgotten myself Doh !
Iām no FB expert DJ but it depends on how you set up your profile and I mean by keeping it private. Iāve been on there 4 or 5 years now, been hacked twice and last year (October) I was banned for a month did nothing wrong and for the previous 6 months required approval for posts to truck related and other pages which was a pita FB algorithms get themselves in a twist now and again it seems. I now have 3 accounts didnāt plan it that way , my own personal profile and 2 others where I post my own truck photos, one is friends only and the other public. Now then my public truck page gets some genuine trucker(global) followers but also quite a few of the female gender desiring a friendship these I have blocked but after reading ROFās desire for female company Iāve decided in future Iāll send them his way
