One of John Murphy’s wagons, I like the slightly shabby look of this more than all the highly-polished stuff.

Looks like a proper worker.
The trailer looks naked without side guards.
Sid Harrison could get another axle under that, how the hell he used to manage it is anybody’s guess
For many years, trailers with side bars, under-run bars, side boxes etc looked really cluttered after being so accustomed to the ‘normal’ trailer shown above (unless it was on Middle-East of course!). I’m just getting used to them
He was! He drove one to Lahore
Hold very tight please, ding ding.
And although I herded hundreds of cows across part of Australia, I didn’t spend the rest of my career taking photos of their arses.
BTW, re the picture of the Big J which did take me back to happy days, yes I did drive one for Rod Closs, (have you got him on your list Buzzer?) but a shame that the owner couldn’t represent the national flag correctly.
Talking of the flag…
My 87 year old Dad, ex Royal Navy, gets aereated when the Union Flag is flown upside down or wrong way round…that pic would annoy him, I may even show him it to wind him up.
I like most people can’t tell the difference.
I’m sure he once told me as a kid that it was only the Union Jack if flown from a ship, any other time it is the Union Flag…but I may have got that wrong.
He was/is up on all this kind of stuff, for example as a kid I had to have my school shoes ‘ready for inspection’ military style, every night, and when all the other kids had longer hair, I had a Navy regulation cut .
All changed in my rebellious teens though.

Only slightly wrong. The Union flag is only the Union Jack when it is flown on the Jack Staff which is situated on the stern, that is the rear, of the ship.
When it is flown upside down it is a distress signal.
The flag in the picture is not a true depiction of the Union flag, wherever it may be flown
This is the correct design, as you will see the red St. Parick’s Cross set in the white saltire has all 4 of its arms offset.
This is a genuine Union flag:
For those of us with Welsh blood we are somewhat mollified by the fact that our Dragon just wouldn’t fit and, in any case is so much more original.in its design.
I may even show him it to wind him up.
Dare you risk it? I am almost 82 and have barely recovered even now from the sight of it.
and when all the other kids had longer hair, I had a Navy regulation cut .
And now…
And now?
I comb my hair with a flannel.
When it is flown upside down it is a distress signal.
How do the Japanese indicate they’re in bother?
Lots of zeros in the sky?

TBH I hadn’t noticed until you pointed it out - hope you’ve recovered your equilibrium after such a shock
A bit shaky but I’ll be alright in a moment.
I know the feeling, It’s a bugga when 17 year old grandson has more hair on his chin than I have on my head.
The Jackstaff is on the bow of a ship not the stern.
I thought that, but I did not want to pretend I knew what I was on about.
On the stern of a British ship is either the White Ensign for Royal Navy, or Red Ensign for Merchant.
(Had to ask my Dad,.as I STILL dont know wtf I’m on about. …nothing new there some will say no doubt.)
Yes sorry, got confused with the Red Duster, which does fly aft.
Unless you are in the Grey Funnel Line, obviously.
