How did those pockets of hops not fall off, Buzzer

I’m guessing that the 3rd and 4th layers down are roped individual directly to the back of the trailer. I think I can see the central ropes.

A clever trick how they hold them in place while the ropes are placed and tightened though.

What’s a TAM when it’s at home?

I’d think more than twice before I hit the brakes hard. What sort of coupling is it and what’s the lorry?

TAM = Tovarna Automobilov Maribor. They were Czech Pragas made in Yugoslavia under licence.

There is a (probably apocriphal) tale about a Yugoslavian traffic cop admonishing a Brit driver who wasn’t transiting Yugo using the nominated entry and exit borders as he should, with the memorable line: ‘If you Yugo, you go Yugo all the way!’

Bale hooks. A piece of round steel bar about 1 ft long with both ends bent at 90 degrees and sharpened to a point. Common practice when loading bales of wool, rags, etc

Same to you too

Silly quips aside, that’s the answer.

I’m guessing Bedford.
A trick with wool bales was a length of barbed wire on each bale.

Ta. So what is/ was a Praga?

I used to live nearby (Huddersfield), I wouldn’t class Bradistan as anything like any other city/town. I don’t know if it still holds the title but at one time it was the “uninsured driver’s capital of the UK”, not so much of a worry if you’re in a works truck, but a real concern if you’re in your own car.

A truck built in Prague by the Czech manufacturer, Praga.

Folloowed this in Bristol last week

Very nice, but wasted, being, according to the greased 5th wheel, normally hidden by a trailer.
Or was it, loads normally low and long?

Now, somebody tell us what the lorry pictured is.

2021 Scania S650, apparently.

No, the lorry pictured behind the sailing ship on the back of the cab.

It’s a bus, you old fool. Put yer glasses on!

Bloody hell you’re right, what I thought was the cab is picked out a bit darker and what I now see as the double deck I thought was a row of buildings behind it.

So what is the bus, Bristol? AEC? Surely not a famous Crossley.?

All that mural on trucks sh does not do a lot for me tbh.
Some that you see look ok, in a less is more context, but a lot go just too far with it all to the point of crossing the taste border to be left with a garish display of embarrasing bad taste.

I put my inspectacles on and I think it’s a Lodekka. Then again the pic is too small, even if you blow it up (the photo that is, not the bus or the Scania).

Does nothing for me neither, but to each their own. I suppose.
