This must have been quite the tool back in the day…?

Couldn’t this be a Sentinel or Foden steam-powered truck?

The address of John G.Shields is strange:Isley Walton is in Leicestershire, yet it says Isley Walton,DERBY! :exclamation:   John G.Sheilds,Breedon & Cloud Hill Lime Works, operated several Sentinel DG4 and DG6 steam lorries, but I am not one-hundred-percent sure that this Sentinel is No.19,since it has trade plates. This steam lorry was a side tipper and so its most likely is No.19;also its most likely to have been an original DG6
specification DG6 converted in to a DG6 Lightweight Steam Lorry as shown in the photograph.

This roadsign still exists on the A49 in the Langtree district of Standish in Lancashire.
Some of the older Trucknet drivers will have used the A49 in the days before the M6
motorway was built for journeys North to South, and South to North. NMP.

Corona lemonade lorries were a regular sight in the 1960s and 1970s. NMP.

Thomas Guy of Burscough did a lot of work for the H.J.Heinz factory at Kitt Green, Wigan.
In addition to doing local deliveries, Thomas Guy carried thousands of pallets of Heinz products
to Guys warehouse at Burscough for storage, and returned them to Heinz when required. Guys warehouse at Burscough used to be a large aircraft hangar on an old RAF base.
The Robert Baillie depot in Wigan, formerly Fyffes Bananas warehouse, was also used by Heinz
for “Outside Storage”, but on a much smaller scale than Thomas Guy. NMP.
