30 March 1983
Christian Salvesen Droitwich Spa depot
A hired Wincanton Volvo F10. POC767Y
Used it for a relatively short haul, a return trip to and from Taunton.
As usual with these F10s there was nothing negative to say about it.

I remember seeing several of these in Spain in 1960. Usually with a substantial plate proclaiming their
English heritage.

Saw one or two LHD Spanish in the London markets in the 60/70s. Big plate on the bonnet sides proclaiming “El Camion Inglese” or similar, (pardon my Spanish if that’s not right).

1st April 1983.(April Fools Day)
Bedminster, Bristol.
BUD 506V
Another hired unit, this time a Volvo F7, with a Salvesen fridge trailer

this was another likeable motor. i expect my MB 1619 was being serviced.
Seen at the back of Sainsburys Bedminster store.
Some time later, in the 21st Century i delivered to the same store, only then it had become a Somerfield.

Quite a lot IMO, AEC,s in those good old days ran forever, Its just a pity that they didnt survive in the haulage game I drove several AEC,s and I allways liked the way the performed, The MK 5s were a cracking bit of gear, Regards Larry.
