Apologies ,both these pics have been posted before on another thread.
However Past and Present is seen by a much wider audience so i thought it worth airing them again.
Both where taken in May 1976, in Droitwich Spa,Worcs.
They where parked up on a large piece of open ground just off the A38.
This area was used by a number of folk for parking,as well as the site of the annual fair.
Its all changed now, the old Droitwich Barge Canal as been restored and the site is now a beautifully restored park
with the canal and River Salwarpe running through it and know named Vines Park.
I dont know why motors from the Potteries would be parked here, unless it was a regular stopover ,or the driver was local to
the area,.
I liked these Fiats, thay had a rugged handle anything look about them, helped by the Trilex wheels.

I didn’t know they had been sold in UK. The top model of the range was powered by a (very) big 17 litre V8.

Yes, they were not a unusual sight back then.
we had one,a 23 ton tractor at Christian Salvesen, complete with Trilex wheels. i only drove it once though.

Thanks to pyewacket947v and DEANB for the pics

Scale model of the “Moge” Berliet GR 250; a fine model which was sold by Altaya models, and part of my collection, though I never drove this very Berliet.

Another model of my collection is this c. 1965 Berliet PHN 8 coach/bus. I used to drive one daily in 1982.

New to this technology stuff so bare with me.

Marston valley brick, wonder how many young drivers today would put up with that interior!

This is the Foden I used to go in after the AEC was retired, there’s a photo of me in the drivers seat as a youngster. Or rather there isn’t a photo of me in these, scanned the same pictures twice!

Today in Inverness, had a chat with both drivers, the Gussion wagon on its way to Ullapool and the ferry to Stornoway.

Like the “Greengrass” Morris. One of those was my first lorry at 19 years old- me, not the Morris! Collected milk in churns from around North Herefordshire, returning them to the dairy in Hereford. The colour scheme was a bit lairy, cream with purple wings, ugh!!!

eeekkk, that vertical stack next to a tank of something flammable.!

Sisu’s were much prettier when they made their own cabs.

But how do the economics work buying cabs in France for trucks made in Finland? The transport costs must be very high even if they are using Poles to do it.

And bearing in mind that most of them are only being used in the country of origin… I do believe they’re using Merc cabs nowadays…?
