Hi Oily, Colin Carruthers is based at Oulton a village three miles from me, his daughter Sharon who drives one of her dads Volvos used to travel to school everyday on the school bus I operated into Wigton school from that district for 18 years.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
Question - I was always under the impression that a new reg plate started on 1st August e.g. M reg was 1st August 1973 through until 31st July 1974
So with that in mind, how was I riding in this Leyland Chieftain on Silver Jubilee Day 7th June 1977 when S plates would have started on 1st August 1977?
PS - she looked a lot better on Jubilee Day as a brand new wagon
Thanks to robthedog, gazsa401 and Gardner 120 for the pics
Gets the thinking ticking over as to how this got loaded and balanced .

Wrong… they started in 63 with ‘A’ then in 67 they decided to start it in August as it would be better for car sales, so ‘E’ only ran for 6 months.
