Sadly long gone another old Nottingham firm that’s gone overseas

Question - I was always under the impression that a new reg plate started on 1st August e.g. M reg was 1st August 1973 through until 31st July 1974

So with that in mind, how was I riding in this Leyland Chieftain on Silver Jubilee Day 7th June 1977 when S plates would have started on 1st August 1977?

PS - she looked a lot better on Jubilee Day as a brand new wagon

Thanks to robthedog, gazsa401 and Gardner 120 for the pics

Gets the thinking ticking over as to how this got loaded and balanced :bulb: .

I may be wrong but the letters after the number started in Jan.1967 and E went for 6months

Wrong… they started in 63 with ‘A’ then in 67 they decided to start it in August as it would be better for car sales, so ‘E’ only ran for 6 months.
