I think you may be right Larry that Darlington registered Foden could be one of Burn Bros strokers. I can remember them clearly running over Stainmoor.

Early 1970s I worked for Wynnes Trafford park Manchester for a couple of months driving low loaders mainly out of Metropolitan Vickers later GEC AEI Westinghouse road Trafford Park.
I never did get to drive any of the abnormal load heavy haulage kit as it was specialist drivers that were normally had an engineering fitter’s background. I remember most trailer tyres were solid and would set fire if you drove over 19 miles per hour! youtube.com/watch?v=C3R8qevunx8

Hi a Gaz
Remember an Alec at Smiths of Eccles Urmston T/park who would now be over 100? There was a couple of Alecs from Scotch called into the yard on nights changeover. I do remember an Alec from West Brom depot who was ace at roping and sheeting and black oil tanker work in winter.
regards Kev

Hi Kev,
I used to see Cliff on here quite a bit, though I haven’t seen him for years now. He was on the MAT
thing on here from time to time, but it seems that since he retired he doesn’t come on here anymore. So no I don’t. It seems there is nobody on here now.
Hi Ade a smart looking motor, nowt fancy but looks the business,
Ade is that your,s ? regards Gordon
