Seeing that TK with a dangler reminds me how many Bedford owners liked to "get their money’s worth! Talking of which, does anyone have a photo of a Myer’s beds TK drawbar outfit?

Nice one. Def a DiamondT and I would guess the driver(owner) is Kurt Johannsen, Spardo will know more about it.

It doesn’t look like Kurt himself in that picture, judging by one I have of him which is somewhat clearer, but it could well have been one of his drivers.
Certainly it looks like a Johannsen outfit and, although that trailer looks a bit longer than the norm, he certainly employed beavertails with extensions like that.
I have a picture of a Johannsen train. Diamond T body truck plus 3 drawbar trailers all loaded up like that with a total of 1,150 drums. He had a contract after the war to collect, clean and deliver 63,000 drums left in various parts of the Territory.
I reckon the trailer in the above picture has about 200 drums on with a further 50 odd on the prime mover. I wonder if it was only in the Territory where such sights were seen though. What about in Burma and Malaya? All those blokes in pith helmets look a bit colonial although I was in the NT in the 60s and all this went on 20 years earlier. But it doesn’t look very Aussie where wide brimmed sundowner hats were more the headgear of choice (still got mine in the cupboard )
