0Smilers RJR349, Loaded for Briton Ferry South Wales, Regards Larry.

Thats a great photo Lawrence ,my dad had 1 very similar it pulled a Dyson drawbar ,how long did that trip take its a fair treck from Tyneside to South Wales

12 Hours & we used to do it in one hit in those days, Tip & usually load tin plate off Gwyn Bowen either from his warehouse or the steel works, for Metal Box Co Westhoughton or Smart & Browns at Spennymoor, Hard work at 37 mph but the pay was good, Regards Larry.

I suppose it would be a nice relaxing day running down in the summer with the air con on flick the cruise control on and pop in a cd  I thought the 11.3s were a bit faster they had some where my dad worked with 11.3s and 6 speed boxes that did 60mph , my dads had the 9.6 and 5 speed box and a trailer 38 mph and it refused some hills

Thanks again to servo88, fine lot

“Hi Oily do you live up in the Highlands like, regards servo88”
Aye I do, 20 miles north of Inverness, where this last few days has given a few varieties of weather from horizontal sleet and a bit of snow with bright spells killing the early morning frosts. True to the old cliché, March came in like a lamb and went out like a lion.
Cheers

Thanks to servo88 for the pics  that Actros looks a bit posh :sunglasses: , almost too posh for work.

Now from France, out of sight of VOSA.

Hi Oily, my mate moved up that way and drives a tanker for Grants.Me and the wife like Inverness, had a few holidays there, had a bad turn once and was rushed into Raigmore hospital. Gave me excellent treatment, better than what we get down our way by miles.Cost me a £100 for the daughter to come up on the train, to drive me back.

CIMG0705.JPGTook this one 15 years ago near Fort William and the other one was when we were at the Black Isle,s.

Don’t know this company but I bet someone does as always, Buzzer

We ran a batch of 8 not one of them made 500,000ks without having a gearbox replacement head gasket problems rear axle failures and has for the brake drums I think the ones we had were made by Cadburys the motor factor ones lasted longer than the Volvo genuine ones
And has for air valves I could go on for ever
Ours spent more time back at Volvo than they did on the road

Cant see what the problem is they were lovely little reliable motors and they were an F10 underneath and nobody complains about them my only gripe was the warning bells esp in the later ones.

Hi servo88, yes can’t fault the health care we get in our village and at Raigmore, you will recognise the building here flickr.com/photos/oiltreader/16129877199/ tho’ perhaps in better weather.
