Never really saw the point of the high end 4 cylinder types like the Holbay Hunter ? when there was better value for money and quicker 6 cylinder types from Ford and Vauxhall and Triumph in the day.

Buzzer,is that a Norton Vincent hybrid?

David

Yes mate it is a Norton featherbed frame which are renowned for good handling with a 1000cc Vincent engine a very nice mix of a hibred, I built a Triton when a teenager which was a featherbed frame and a triumph engine a more common build back in the day, some one said it should be called a Vinor as usually the engine make comes first in rename but I always like Norvin better, suppose its a personal choice, Buzzer

My Dad’s mate had an HRD and Dad had an Ariel Square 4 he reckoned they were about even on their cafe runs to Brighton and only the two stroke Scott could run with them.
I’ve always preferred the Rover V8 P5 to the P6 but unfortunately only the P6 had a manual box option in the S.

You’re right, the P6 could have a manual box in the S. But it was troublesome as it was never designed for the torque the V8 produced. The BW auto was better in that respect.

The good old BW. With various mods by the makers it went behind all sorts of engines. We had them over here in 6 pot Falcons with 221cid engines amongst others.
