I remember this " doing the rounds " in the Halifax area. It was built on a Austin or Morris van chassis in 1961 for Whittakers, one of our local brewers

Hi Tyneside, had a closer look at the photo and looks like Phone Lanchester 242 and there’s mebbe a connection with the Harrison family at Cold Pike Farm Lanchester Co Durham.

Can’t go anywhere ? 3 chains on that load . I’d be more worried about the springs , I bet it cornered like a Spanish galleon in a storm .
That is one smart looking motor, imagine how it must’ve felt being given that to drive back in the day, you’d be like a dog with 2 tails.

TK’s were bad enough with front springs about 6ft long with eight layers of straw but those S type’s were unreal, Buzzer
