i passed the theory exam thismorning at 8am took me 32 minutes with a score of 95 out of 100 i wonder what five i got wrong but hey im not complaining pressures off a little.
so 11th june is the hazard and perception test booked at 9am before i go to work any advice on this test im really eager now to call mark and book my week of lessons and want to pass this straight away haha.
Also what do i have to do with the CPC course, ive booked module 1 wednesday 20th june but what do i have to revise for it and whats the nexts steps how do i do it, this is all so complicated to when my dad learnt 12 years ago
Youāve already done half of module one and youāll be doing the other half on the 11th of June. If youāve never done a HP test I would recommend getting some software to practice on. If you had to do it for your car licence then you might be okay. Itās basically a game and you need to know how to win it. Go in blind and you will fail.
I assume what youāve booked for the 20th is actually module two and itāll be similar to the multiple choice test youāve just passed. Itās quite easy, I did it in Welsh even though I donāt speak Welsh. If you can pass the multiple choice test, you can pass module two as itās mainly common sense.
Donāt forget you also need to pass āmodule zeroā by choosing your trainer carefully. Module zero is the most important, fail that and you can kiss goodbye to your money.
Module 2 is similar in that it is multiple choice and based on the same knowledge. The only difference is that you have to read some scenarios in order to answer the questions and most of them you can get rid of the silly answers and leave you with a couple of possibles.
Check that you have read the scenario properly.
As I remember it the scenario changes every 5 or so questions so make sure you are still referring to the correct scenario.
Best of luck for your HPT. As SCF has said, itās very much a game. Donāt click too early as you will miss the scoring frame. Dont click too many times or in a pattern as it will think you are trying to cheat.
Try the couple of example clips on the DSA website. If you can get hold of the practice software then thatās great.
dar1976:
How the hell did you pass it in welsh SCF lol.
Iām going to take you on a journey through time and space to my first ever post. It rambles on a bit because itās written in the style of johnnytruckfest.
Great93, Driving Test Success is the hazard perception software you want according to that. Itās only a couple of quid on Amazon and is identical to the real test.

I hope this helps.
Well done great93, another step on the ladder to becoming a HGV driver, unfortunately the case studies has little training material and is slightly harder than the theory and hpt.
Erm what do I need to revise to pass CPC theory Iāve got it booked 20th June I will sort out the other CPC (zb) with my trainer
If you mean the CPC Case Studies, there is no training material really. Thatās what makes it slightly harder but itās all common sense, read the questions SLOWLY and CAREFULLY, read them not once but twice and mark them so you can go back and read them ALL again as the answer me be more apparent the second or third time.
Hi Great 93 I did my module 2 CPC this week and the best bit of advise I could give you is either buy a copy or lend a copy of " The Official Guide To Driving Goods Vehicles" it is full of helpful information and has everything in it to pass your module 2 , it also tells you what all is expected of you in your driving test and tips on what to do or avoid doing hope this helps you
Forgot to say if your buying the official guide to driving goods vehicles go onto ebay and you can get new ones for less than £15:00 when its over £17 in the shops .
Beyond doubt the best source of info for the MOD2 exam is in the book āDriving Goods Vehiclesā. You might like to take a look at an online version for free at flairtraining.co.uk/universi ⦠hicles.pdf
Heavy reading though, over 300 pages but I guess preparation is everything.
nearly there:
Dont you do the theory and hazard perception on the same day, I did
For an LGV or PCV theory test, you can take the theory questions and hazard perception test on different days. If you take the both on the same day and fail one, you just have to retake the one you failed. You must pass both parts before taking a practical driving test.
This is different to the car and the motorbike theory tests, where you have to take both the theory and hazard perception tests together, and you must pass both parts in one attempt.
To be honest the DSA theory book has 1000 questions in it will all the answers and a short description beside it, you really just need to get your head in the book a few times, I only read it once when I had the time getting home from my current job and passed.
95/100 I got. You need to achieve at least 85 correct.
hireplant, what have you failed twice, the theory and haz perp or the module 2 cpc?
If its the theory and haz perp then I found the best study method was the complete LGV PCV theory and hazard perception dvd, just keep doing the mock tests (2 of each per day) and donāt put in for your tests until scoring above 90% on both
If its mod 2 cpc then treat yourself to a copy of the DSA official guide to driving goods vehicles and read it (or at least the bits which cover what you were asked in both your tests)
