Passed C&E this morning at the first attempt, and am still smiling!
I reckon I got the most unusual minor anyone has had too: when I had done my recouple the examiner asked me if I wanted him to check my lights. Hadnt expected it, and was going to ask him to check my brake lights anyway but said thanks, I would be grateful and so he went to the back, I turned them on and off and he said ok and that was that. When I looked at my minors score (and I had a few!) I saw he had marked me down for one on the recouple. Hang on I said, I didnt miss anything did I ? “No, but you let me check your lights for you”. WTF? Honest! My instructor was in the cab at the time so I know I didnt mishear!
Thanks again to the team at Data Academy, I have not only been trained up to test standard but way beyond it. I have done more reversing, driving down tiny roads, and through places I almost wouldnt take my car that I really understand what the artic can do (and it still surprises me) and am really confident about driving one in the real world.
The only way to avoid that minor is for YOU to go check the brake lights. Probably impossible on a test as I doubt the examinor would operate the pedal. Something my instructor mentioned when I was doing my C training. Along the lines of if I had a drivers mate I would ask him to operate the pedal as I had to be happy they worked as I would be doing the driving.
Or he just assumed you’d missed your light check so asked you?

And it ain’t no puddle jumper either, but if you can back it into our yard (and you can) you won’t struggle in most places.
