Parking in Edinburgh Please

Preferably in the Calder Road, Sighthill area. No facilities neccesary.

Thanks
Kate

Try nearby, newbridge ind est is a short drive away from sighthill. Can’t think of many places in sighthill, they love their double yellows.

Thanks Pete, Much appreciated.

You’re welcome, I have previously parked up overnight just outside Scania in newbridge, never had any problems, postcode EH28 8PG, Mcd’s and a 24hr esso garage nearby if needed.

Kate,

Newbridge is your safest bet, 10-15 minutes back to calder road, but murder at rush hour,

Willie

Thanks Willie.

I’ve parked a few times on chariot drive, newbridge very quiet apart from planes taking off every 5 mins

What about South Gyle - a stone throw north from Calder Road. A huge industrial estate…

On Newbridge there will be a bit noisy, a huge traffic at night, there is a Menzies Depot nearby and they are running there all night with papers. Yeah, and planes as well.

South gyle is targeted at night by the junkies from sighthill also there are no facilities

When i stop in edinburgh i park up near the university research park near south gyle

dont park anywhere near calder road or you prob wont have a load left or any wheels for that matter.

newbridge industrial estate is your best bet tbh, next to the scanny garage.

if your coming in from abingdon up to the bypass on the a701 theres parking across from the golf course that could be used (my ex lives next to the golf course so used to see the trucks parked up there over the weekend etc)

right now though edinburgh should be alright because its easter and the roads are usually hella quiet the now.

Thanks, all of you,for your help.
I knew I could rely on you.

Parking anywhere has its problems!
Park in Makro car park sighthill, all the other delivery drivers park there.
Take a chance. Its not as bad as you think.

i would go with newbridge (M9 j1). come off the motorway, turn left (slip road before the traffic lights) and left again (ESSO garage/McDs on left) and take the first right. i have seen plenty of trucks parked up there before. get out before 0730 though or you will have traffic problems all the way from there to hermiston gait (the end of the M8)
