Does anybody knows of parking in colchester near town centre??
You can park on Wyncolls road. I’m not sure how far from town centre but there a pub and tesco nearby
theres a small lorry park in sheepen rd, iirc its a tenner overnight dont think theres any facilities tho, if you want free then severalls or hythe ind areas but both theses are about a mile out of town centre
You can park up overnight in the road our unit is on - Peartree Rd, but’s it’s a long walk into town. There are plenty of busses running along there though
There are a couple of big laybys on the Avenue of Remembrance, not hugely far from town centre 1 1/2 miles although be warned that’s where Tappy lost his motor a years ago. Sheepen Road has got to be the closest I’d think.

No it’s not, it was nicked on the 414 in harlow
Be careful, we’ve had lots of diesel nicked in Colchester lately and all out trucks have anti syphons…

How odd, I was convinced it was along there.
add.
Just looked at the original thread where it only said Essex (at least in the first few posts) however there was a picture that I took to be in Colchester.
No mate, tappy lives 2 streets over from me. He was having a sneaky night out at home in the lay by between the 2nd and 3rd roundabouts on the eastern side of the 414, just around the corner from old harlow where we both live
As soon as I looked at the picture again I knew exactly where it was, just that first impression stuck.
Presume you cant park on the Hythe anymore?
Pub called the Spinnaker(spolling) . . . must be 25+ years ago when i parked there, first night out i had with my now missus in the cab . . cosy in a Merc half sleeper.
Park down there and you’ll probably wake up in your sleeping bag on the quay, the dids will have nicked your truck whilst you’re sleeping.

yeah its a bit rough down there now…even the thieves round there walk round in pairs…
safer to park on peartree road or over on severals but watch out for the double yellows in a few places on severals(safer to park near ATS on severalls as just off the main round through the site but be up by 8am otherwise you may get boxed in by people in there cars who are coming into work…

Tuck yourself down the far end by 12 Peartree Centre, you’ll be well out of the way, good and quiet, but open enough to put the do-as-they-likeys off
(If you’re still there at 730, you might even get a coffee!)
Thanks for the replys !!! ended up in Stanway though…
