Will it be harmful in anyway to the vehicle/tyres parked with one side of it on a kerb and the other in the road, hence making a bit of a slant putting more pressure on one sides tyres, whilst heavily loaded? Just for one night, not a routine thing or anything
Never had a problem doing that myself…Has to be done sometimes…Otherwise you slide down the bed…

No but constantly doing it will result in your truck eventually pulling to one side as it ■■■■■ the tracking and if your place is anything like mine they won’t bother their hole getting the tracking done resulting in uneven tyre wear and you constantly pulling the wheel to one side all the time.
So be gentle

Heavily made threaded steel track control arms do not bend putting the tracking out just by parking with wheels up on the kerb whether empty or fully loaded. However…driving on the pavement is illegal and theres no need for it, roads for driving on pavements for walking on…

It’s perfect smooth roads that put tracking out silly me I forgot
Parking on the kerb is lazy and damaging the footpath. I’d be replacing kerbs with the 18in variety when re doing roads.
There’s no need for pavement parking.
I can recall seeing some of our EE counterparts using lumps of wood under the front wheel so that the cab tilted to one side a little in and that was in a motorway services ,in belgium
Personally i like a level surface to sleep on, i don’t mind a uphill incline, but a downwards one ain’t so good if you sleep in top bunk
I used to carry a block of wood. Saves knackering the kerb and risking a fine.
Normally I agree and vehicles parked partly on the kerb really annoys me. Last night though I had a look at M25 J26 truck stop and when I got there it was just a line of foreign trucks with hazard lights on queuing at the entrance, which was closed off with cones. The only place I found to park with 5 minutes before my 15 hour finished was with one side of me up the kerb, otherwise I was potentially blocking the road if another HGV or coach wanted to get past me in the night. Not ideal, and normally I would never park on the kerb, and I’d normally find somewhere more appropriate. But last night it certainly wasn’t laziness, it was a case of not going over my time but also not blocking the road!
I think the London area is massively under catered for in terms or truck parking, both day and night. Go up the m74 and there’s a services every 15/20 miles pretty much and there’s normally space at them all. London has God knows how much more volume of HGVs going in and around it yet the ratio of parking to amount of vehicles is going to cause an issue.
I park half road / kerb when I drop in my house on way passed ( just off a1 ) , if I parked fully on road I’d cause a lot of inconvenience to other road users
It is illegal to drive on a pavement so … how does does a vehicle get to park on one without driving on one
There is also the laws on obstruction and pavement damage to consider
Sometimes it cannot be helped, and some of us do it out of courtesy.to allow other traffic to pass when making a delivery…sadly, our traffic wardens don’t take too kindly to common sense, and some of us have been ticketed.
Think of the children playing

I’d love to see the police actually bother to do anything about it unless it’s dangerously driving along it. Just parking on it…nah. I know, I used to be a copper. Plain and simple they would not bother.
If you want to get into the ins and outs of the law and the road traffic act then fire away. I’ll gladly clear up what’s written in the book and what the police or authorities wil do in reality. Obstruction laws? For 9 hours when your not even totally blocking it? Trust me, it would take longer than 9 hours to enforce anything!
