any one know if you are allowed to park on the carpark nr the marina in calais [nr the square] we used to years ago some nice restuarants in the square

Yes it is an official aire de camping car, someone from the municipal campsite comes along for the nightly fee (€7), I have seen them putting tickets on those that haven’t paid.

thanks we did use to park there several years ago but thought it might have changed

There is some parking near the routier close to the lighthouse. If you follow the road along the perimeter fence of the port you will come to it. Can either use the routier or walk a couple of minutes into the centre.

Obviously you would need to do your checks before setting off again, as still get the illegals around there, especially as some local do-gooders do a food handout early evening.
