Parking at Soithampton Docks

Does anybody know if you can park on the bridge outside Southampton docks overnight?
Sorry if this has been discused before but i couldnt find anything searching on my phone.

Thanks, Rob

i think you can pay the guard on the gate 20 and park by berth 3 i think

If you mean outside Dock Gate 20 over the railway then I think no, it has double yellows…

Always used to be double yellows up to the top of the bridge then you could park.

Failing that go down into the docks to do a U-turn at the roundabout, head back out of the docks and do a right turn at the roundabout to get back onto the dual carriageway (towards city centre). As you go along the DC look to your right, there is a service road that runs parallel, if theres room you can park there outside the sportsground (you can get a shower there if you ask), also theres a few takeaways opposite.

If you get no luck there then find Empress road on your favorite method of navigation. Its a couple of miles away but its the local red-light district therefore very safe, no yellow lines, loads of trucks park there, the council has cctv and regular police patrols to boot.

P.S. Dont tell anyone its a good secret.

You can park on the bridge on the in and out on the double yellows no problem at all.

You can park on the bridge for free (If you can get in). It is double yellows but never seen enforcement. I believe that the bridge is still part of the port authority land not local council.
