Fixed that for ya!
Robbo’s Diner on the A23 by Whitegates just outside Brighton, big layby for parking & the grub’s ok too. Couple of my blokes go to a massage parlour in Brighton cos apparently you get a free shower before your “massage” Glad to be of assistance
There is free parking in the ferry terminal at Newhaven docks, there is a free shower, and a cafe for breakfast in the passenger terminal, the town is a 5 minute walk. The coast road to Brighton is a weight limit, and there is a police station on that route.
The showers are clean, and located in a white portacabin by the big blue customs building, don think they lock the shower,if it is,ask in the ferry office for the key, there are plenty of cafes in the town for breakfast, and a few good pubs.

I thought of Robbo’s but wasn’t sure if overnight parking was allowed and I certainly didn’t know about the shower facilities! Bit pricey for a shower though!

I don’t know whats the matter with em! Must be paying them too much for nights out. Can’t see why they need a massage anyway my Bedford TK’s are very comfortable!
Yeah go to the Ferry Terminal at Newhaven (7 miles East of Brighton), plenty of parking there, showers etc as has been said, plus there is a Sainsburys, Brewers Fayre, Halfords, B&Q, about 300 yards to the East, and a pub, Curry House, Chinese and town centre 200 yards to the West. Train Station is next to it too if you want to get into Brighton for a night out etc.
Wouldn’t consider anywhere else round Brighton. If you need any more info let me know, I live only 3 miles away and there are other parking spots available but not with those facilities.
Alex
Has that lorry ,park .at, hove shut .nr the docks?not been for yrs, also you used to be able to park just off the prom in brighton,no showers though,i stand to be corrected.
regards dave.
There’s nowhere to park in Brighton or Hove now, the bit off the prom has been blocked off, and I think the one at Hove was turned into a Furniture Villiage.
The only other parking is the area is Worthing Industrial Estates, by the test centre (which isn’t a nice place to stay) or the Somerfield garage off the A27 at Polegate, nice free parking, shop and a pub next to it, but you are totally in the middle of nowhere.
Newhaven is the best bet by a long shot (its about the only thing going for Newhaven!)

There’s overnight parking, near the pier, on the seafront in Brighton. We were parked there for two days…
The pics were taken last December…

I have heard about a little Cottage industry in Brighton, there are certainly toilets there
There is a regular bus thats stops at the entrance to the port,it runs to Brighton and going the other way to Eastbourne,at the weekends it runs late for a ■■■■ up in town,if you go in the Eastbourne direction, get off at the Seven Sisters park, there is an old smugglers pub that does a great fish pie,you can walk to the beach for fresh air,or on top of the cliffs, there is a bird sanctuary by the river.
As you enter the port to park, there is an area to your left on the roundabout,if it is full carry on all the way to where the ship berths,do a u turn to park in file on your right,at sailing times it gets busy,so may have to wait until the ship departs to get a space.
You wont get much sleep where those FBN trucks are parked in the photos, there is a nightclub that will be pumping out boom boom music all night at a weekend, plus all the loud voices and drunks shouting going past your wagon at night.Brighton is a hen and stag night attraction, plenty of eye candy, there is a few noodle type places for a cheap meal,Jordan lives nearby, and Zoe Ball and Fat Boy Slim the DJ,live nearby too.

Is it safe there? You’d need to know security is watching you.

You learn something new everyday on here I live in Newhaven and never knew that it was free to park in the ferry terminal
It can be pain to park, with the eastern european drivers, they take their 24 and 45 hour weekly rests there, and may start their engines early in the morning to recharge the batteries after watching some naughty films or on their interweb all night,it is my favourite place, especially in the summer, the beach is a 20 minute walk away,a market in the high street to buy some cheap goods for the truck like polish and cleaning materials.
I bike it to Brighton and bike along the coast road, plenty of cafes along the seafront towards Brighton too.
It is the LD lines/Transmanche ferries terminal, there was additional parking past the Parker pen factory, but that is shut for LGVs now,it was an over flow parking area.Like i said,Seven Sisters is worth a visit to get away from the truck for 5 days too.
