Am going to be doing a drop in durham first thing in the morning and am heading down from carlisle atm just wondering if anyone knows any decent parking spots?

Depends where in Durham as you have the services there just off the A1M
Or J59 on the A1 take the A167 towards Newton Aycliff first left into the garage and park behind that you can get a meal in there
Or head down the A690 towards Durham first slip road towards the Industrial est park on there and there is a large Tesco nearby

There are some layby on the A167 from Chester-le-street down towards Langley Moor which may be a little better also some pubs along that way not sure what they are like

If you’re going to Langley Moor, head down the A 690 from Neville’s Cross and go straight over the roundabout at the bottom of the hill. Immediately after the Stonebridge Inn ( on your left), take the road off to your left and park somewhere along there. It rejoins the A690 a bit further along just before the railway bridge. This used to be the access road to the now demolished dairy.
I have stayed in Durham services not that long ago and it wasnt too bad. Food was pretty good and i had a good nights sleep. Not many trucks were parked up when i was in there.

Winter, dark, raining, unit only, i found the railway station car park… don’t try it with a trailer on!!
(was collecting a new trailer from Harelaw the next day).

Overnight truck parking is extremely limited there though, zero in fact.
However, the burgers make it worth the risk.
