After a bit of advice from you guys.
Looking at applying for operators licence for 1 HGV.
everything else in place but i have a question of operating centre, i am planning to have it on the family farm , plenty space, good access for the lorry, workshop for repairs , pit etc.
Query i have is that the farm is in a weight Limit, all be it a very quiet country road which weight limit is on to stop traffic using it as a short cut. will this be a problem with the powers that be that grant the licences, i live on the farm in question also
It all depends how well you get on with the locals, they Traffic commissar, might place a caveat which only allows you to enter and exit one way, even a curfew on times, If nobody objects then you should be happy days
get on well with neighbours all isolated and rural neighbours 6 houses in total on 2 mile road so will see.
Should be okay, until you unleash a full Tang spec 730, running pipes, and fridge box on defrost at 0300…

Traffic Commissioner may add an undertaking to your licence to allow you to operate vehicles only below the weight limit or take specific routes to enter/exit the Operating Centre. Objections from local residents or local authorities is another thing to consider.
I hope it goes well for you.
