OP licence is

…in the post  you can still drive it…is there a tool to record telephone conversations as they may deny making such comments?

There are loads of apps to record telephone conversations. However i found most need regular maintenance.

Think you’re asking if you can drive whilst O licence is being applied for!!!, If so, surely you know you cannot use a vehicle until it has either been approved or you have r3ceived written confirmation that you have an interim issued. A phone call,is not sufficient, and it wouldn’t stand as an excuse

I think it would be helpful if you clarified which licence you’re referring to: drivers licence or operators licence

The topic title suggests that you’re referring to an operators licence but I’m not aware that a driver has any reasonable responsibility for making sure a companies operators licence is up-to date.

If you’re referring to your drivers licence then franglais has provided the information required, on the off chance that you are referring to the companies operators licence I’d leave the TM to worry about it

Does it have an O-licence disc in the cab/window?

sorry gents.title should have been OPS licence, yes operators licence

no O-license in the window

Then its a “fail” on the daily check, and if you are feeling mischievous you can also say its unroadworthy. Pass it on to transport manager in the usual way (ie written/texted/whatsapp message/daily check app on phone) and let them sort it out.

It used to be that the company has 28 days grace from when the licence is issued/renewed to when the disc needs to be displayed, that was over a decade ago but I doubt it’s changed.

In the unlikely event you got stopped the penalty for not displaying an OP licence is a verbal warning, hardly the end of the world

O licence take seconds to put on a vehicle, then the dics is posted to you, so no grace required like in the past.

Penalty for not having one is higher though - but would be the company, not the driver.
