Our trucks have a quite annoying voice warning that comes on if you open the door without the hand brake on,very loudly announces “warning handbrake not applied”…watching this video I can actually see it’s quite a useful feature to have!
This truck was a Volvo and it sounds a very loud warning if you open for with handbrake off

We’ve got it in Volvo,DAF & Mans all have been retrofitted apart from the Volvos they came fitted already
I bet that oncoming artic got a fright - seeing that driverless combination coming at him, banging on the central crash barrier! Luckily for him - it held!
But they didn’t know the truck was driverless and it kinda looked like for a bit it was just joining the motorway. A car pulling out and slowing down whilst hazards on and waving arms out of the window might be a bit more obvious something is wrong.
Granted some ■■■■ in a Audi will still bomb past at 100mph, but that’s thier problem.

The iveco stralis is from Reid freight in stoke, my mate works in there garage but is not forth coming with any info on the smash. Other than the statutory fitters Response of ‘driver abuse’ …
What is it with nerds these days with camera phones■■? Instead of getting in front of the truck and at least trying to warn other vehicles this ■■■■ actually films it!!

What is it with the ‘doddery old git’ comments? Some of you not planning on growing old?
To be fair mate he did look a bit TOO old to be still doing the job.
I aint being ageist here, I’m the wrong side of 50 myself, and I reckon I’ve got quite a bit of driving time left, but I reckon even I’ ll be jacking long before I look anything like him.
I intend to enjoy my old age, that does NOT include driving a ■■■■ artic.
I doubt very much it was parked with the brake off. On that incline it would have started moving pretty much as soon as he took his foot off the brake and certainly before he’d managed to reach the back of the motor on his way to get his bit of timber.
