Ah your inexperience is showing here. They were rarely full. They simply sent the trailer needed, some days 13.6, others 10 etc. UPS trucks anyway, the pic I sent pulling a UPS trailer was rare, we normally pulled our own. International trunks were usually one way for us and we’d load fridge loads back
Makes sense why they didnt keep it in-house. You guys could do it cheaper due to return loads.

Carryfast:
What ‘work’ would that be other than swapping a box and a trailer between runs.
Oh I dunno, maybe the work you won’t stop droning on about that supposedly did your back in. Maybe. Maybe that
I was obviously referring to line haul work. You know like that which you said you weren’t expected to be involved in tipping/loading trailers.Just like Barking’s ‘line haul’ drivers weren’t.
Just like I wasn’t up to the point when ‘somehow’ for ‘some’ reason the Union agreed to it on my behalf having ‘somehow’ for ‘some’ reason allowed me to be labelled under the misnomer of a ‘Feeder’ Driver before that.

Never been in the warehouse at UPS let alone unloading. But then unlike you I had good employers that I had a good relationship with
It really is a pain you being on premod

So we’ve got that sorted out.
I had a great relationship with my first employers. You know can’t hack factory work.Fine just go trundling around the country with the works Transit and 7.5 tonnner. Then we’ll pay for your HGV training starting when you return from the Christmas break after your 21st birthday. Then you’ll be out testing fire trucks in no time after your test.Obviously all my fault that the firm then closed down and all made redundant.
Council was just a job they told me what to do I got on with it.
Agency were a bunch of zb’s.
Carryfast mostly ok.
UPS ok.Up to when they lost the plot in deciding that Feeder Driver meant warehouse labourer. All hand ball no more pallets and hub system to add insult to injury.
Back on a proper trunk with a proper wagon no problem.
Oh other than the fact that my back had been broke by the above and then they decided that it would be a good idea to put me back on it again.
For me the job was over.Obviously again all my fault.

You have such an enormous victim mentality. Poor me, I’m so hard done by, everyone was mean to me
Man up and get a grip
UPS are recruiting and paying good money btw Carryfast if your looking to get your feet wet.

I’m not seeing Class 1 Line Haul drivers wanted in the ad.
As opposed to nothing changes they want loose loads floor to celing all handball non one wants the job of warehouse labourer.
No problem we can make the drivers do it under threat of disciplinary and we’ll call it warehouse operative to make it sound better.
Obviously wasn’t welcome to join the Line Haul side then so no chance now.

Do you really think that within all of UPS’ European operations there wasn’t enough freight there for a demount box load from Barking to Milan with a drawbar trailer load from Barking to Paris and a drawbar trailer load from Paris to Milan and vice versa.
It’s actually all the more reason why they wouldn’t want to send a half full step frame artic trailer to Paris. It’s also why 5 axle drawbars are still a major factor in UPS Euro line haul operations just like DPD and TNT IPEC long before that but again mostly subbies now by the look of it.That’ll at least save them the paper for the thank you letters for their own drivers long service.
Oh wait but we have plenty of warehouse labourer opportunities. Why not also sub that out with the ‘feeders’.
